Regarding Hunt the Truth.
I think Master Chief actually did kill those people and its not just him being framed by someone. I don’t see him going on a human killing spree for no reason unless he really has gone off the deep end. I think he was forced to do it. Maybe it wasn’t supposed to go so bad? Maybe he was trying to save someone? Either way, it’s becoming very apparent that he is willing to kill people, mostly fellow soldiers, to complete his mission.
Is he reluctant to kill other people (UNSC) or has he gone somewhat over the edge? The line between friend and foe is getting blurry for John. Who can he trust? Blue Team go way back, but they aren’t necessarily on the same path as John. They might even stand up to him if he goes too far.
Personally i don’t mind him killing humans, I’m sure he’d have a hell of a reason to do that, It’s Master Chief,I trust his actions, and Idk why but I have had this feeling that Chief would kill people since I finished the Halo 4 campaign and Spartan Ops.I’ll assume he has a pretty serious reason to do so too,and nothing would stop him from getting what he wants, imagine Master Chief going on rage, with all these lies,Cortana gone(for now at least,we dont know what’s gonna happen),and Halsey being kept a secret from him, daaaaamn.
I could easily see Halsey, that elite who captured her(sorry i dont know who that is) and the Chief going against Humans,or ONI specifically for some kind of exchange,I don’t know. Covenant wouldn’t want ONI in their way,I don’t think so,since they have both parts of the Janus key(?) who knows what they would do with them.
Just some ideas i have.Correct me if i missed something.
I believe that he did it for a good reason. We have yet to see that reason.
Seeing as its Chief, if he did it, it would have been for a very good reason. If he didn’t do it, then he didn’t. I just feel heavily suspicious about the motives of FERO, and if she’s framing Chief.

I’ll post my thoughts on the subject from over on the Archive:
> I’m thinking that the embassy meetings were a ruse by ONI to facilitate the assassinations of key Covenant leadership, and Chief was acting to foil their operation for some reason. I’m not sure as to motivations, but really there’s no sensible reason to swallow the popular story of “Master Chief cracked and is going on crazed killing sprees”. GTA V: Guardians? I don’t think so.
>
> There must be some horrific developments out there, though, if Chief is willing to sacrifice his reputation and standing with the UNSC to protect Covenant leaders.
>
> For some reason, I can’t help but think of the Bourne films in relation to Chief right now. You know, just because he turned and began taking out CIA agents “with extreme prejudice” didn’t make him the bad guy, though it did to the public until Blackbriar was outed. Makes me wonder what kind of paradigm shift we can expect from #HUNTtheTRUTH and H5G if ONI is fully exposed on all levels, including their harebrained K5 destabilization programs.
>
> My guess is Ben Giraud and all sympathetic politicians are wiped out by ONI at the end of Hunt The Truth, they manage to get a lid on the situation, then in H5G Chief and possibly Locke finish where Giraud left off.

Considering Ferro has the technical ability to hack into ONI’s files. I wouldn’t put it past her to have made a falsified video feed to stir up more towards Ben’s story’s. Ferro seems like she would do anything to take down ONI and bring the news of these “Space Anomalies” to life.
I see people on these forums alluding to an idea that Chief is somehow a bad gad now, and that he has actually gone AWOL. Yes, he probably killed those people, but for good reason.
Do people actually think that Microsoft is going to make their single biggest icon a villain? We don’t know what is motivating Chief at the moment, and a large part of the game is probably going to be dedicated to figuring out what those motives are (especially as we play as Locke).

I hope we find out before Halo 5.
When I play as Chief I WANT to know his motives WHILE I am playing as him. Or else I cannot BE him.

Said reason.
My point of view:
Chief did it, but for a reason. Chief was TRAINED to kill human rebels. Him killing humans should not be shocking, as he is NOT the savior of humanity, he is the savior of the GALAXY. The aliens were most likely Thel and his soldiers being set up by the UNSC or ONI, and Chief probably decided rescue his old friend.
He will do what he thinks is right for the galaxy as a whole, not just humanity.

lolz hahaha
I think the peace talks were a disguised assassination attempt on the Arbiter. So ONI lures in the Arbiter by inviting him to peace talks. He accepts, as he wants peaceful relations with the humans. But as ONI are about to spring their trap and kill him, Chief bursts in and saves the day. Sekibo (an assassin) follows the Chief so Chief kills him as he makes his escape with the Arbiter.
ONI has been trying to destabilise the Sangheili for some time, even discussing genocide in the Kilo-Five Trilogy, so it’s not a big stretch to assume they’d take out the Arbiter to prolong their civil war. However, the Arbiter is friendly to humans and most of the UNSC and the UEG as a whole want to be allies with him. Despite this, ONI still secretly attempt to kill him, leading the Chief to intervene and save his old friend.
maybe the people were flood infested???
