As many of you know the Master Chief Collection currently has a large number of issues and bugs effecting its performance. Earlier this week my copy of MCC quit working altogether. It keeps freezing at the title screen when I hit start. Initially I thought the disc was faulty but now when I go to load up any other game on the console they also freeze right away. I can load apps and everything else just fine but not a single game will play.
I have done multiple hard resets, power cycles, and have even cleared my local save data after reinstalling the game. Nothing works. I’m just about ready to start filing complaints to xbox and Microsoft support, as well as return the game to get my money back.
If anyone else has encountered this freezing problem and found a solution, could you please share the details?
As far as I can tell the disc still spins. MCC was the only physical game I tried, as the rest were digital downloads, but none of them want to load either.
try resetting your cache, no way to do this from system options, hold down the white button on front of your xbox for 8 seconds (i think) it will turn off and start to make a noise, wait for it to become silent and then turn back on, this will clear your cache and reset network adapter, things usually run a lil smoother if you do this once every few days.
this happened to me last night while I was playing CE coop. first my controller was cutting in and out, then the sound would cut in and out. my controller completely stoped working and my kinect was ignoring me. I txt my friend and said I needed to restart (we were up to the second hunters in the silent cartographer).
i restarted the xbone and again, the controller and kinect would not respond. I tried reconnecting to the controller with the button on the console twice, still nothing. I finally said F it I’ll just pulled the plug and let it sit for 60 seconds. after that it worked, but damn what a pain in the -Yoink-. I’ve never had that happen before with this console and I’ve had it since release
It’s possible your console has been effected by halos issues, have you hard started your Xbox? (Holding the X button on the console untill the Xbox cuts off and wait 10-30 seconds) also turn it off from the mains for a minute and then try again.

For what it’s worth I can load other discs like AC: Black Flag and Titanfall just fine, only MCC keeps crashing on me and for whatever reason my digital downloads continue to crash whenever I try boot them up as well. Like Spartan Assault completely glitches the screen as soon as it starts.
Is it possible my MCC disc is faulty? Or could the problem be on MS/343’s side?
