Did crouching improve accuracy in past games?

I noticed while playing last night that crouching reduced the upwards recoil.

You can easily check and confirm it for yourself by firing the BR & AR at a wall and comparing the bullet marks.

Did this happen in past Halo games or is this new?

I don’t believe it did.

must be new. never noticed this

I dont see how crouching would improve anything

Yes, it did. In Halo: Reach, crouching improved accuracy. I think it either tightened the reticle bloom, or made it so that you had to fire for longer before reaching max reticle bloom.

Is it enough that it makes a significant difference for MM?

No it didn’t help in the past. Thanks for the information OP

in <Reach works

Lets pretend it did help reduce recoil but i tell you one thing crouching does not help in… dodging bullets

Why pretend when we can acknowledge the reality?

Ever since Reach, certain weapons can reduce their spread by zooming or crouching and/or they can speed up bloom reduction by crouching.

All combine for more accurate gunplay at the cost of mobility.

EVER SINCE REACH.

Crouching has improved accuracy in a great many multiplayer games. Including Halo. Not sure where it started though.

Crouch isn’t recommended in fights because it makes you into a non-mobile target just sitting there, and it’s easier to hit your head because your body takes up less space, but your head remains the same size.

It has since Reach. Remember Reach.

I didn’t know about any of this untill now.
HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN GOING ON?! WHAT IS REAL?! WHAT IS LIFE?!?!?!

Yeah but if someone comes around a corner while you are crouching they have to look down which gives you just a second longer to get a quick headshot. Once they hit you just jump, it pretty much garuntees a win in that fight because get like two extra shots in.

Spread reduction while zooming was introduced in Halo 4, not Reach. Spread reduction while crouching was only present in Reach.

EDIT: Corrected. Thanks, Ramir3z77

It’s only present in Reach.
