DID CHIPS DUBBO DIE OR RETIRE

He just disappears after halo 3 at the memorial

chips dubbo is an immortal being
duh

specifically, he is an ancient inter-dimensional time-traveling being, who takes the form of an Australian man and shoots stuff just for kicks

My presumption is retired, but could easily pop back up again

Chipps Dubbo is a non-corporeal entity. He can’t die or retire.

I am pretty sure is a god soooo no he is still around

You mean the reused marine with the Australian dialect? It’s amazing how far he’s come, right alongside Stacker.

I don’t know if he’s still active or what. If Admiral Hood can still function as home fleet commander despite being almost 70 then I think a marine who may only be in his 30s or 40s should be good to go.

Or maybe he’s just a ghost.

Buck was in his mid-40s and still doing dangerous combat missions with Alpha-9 before joining the S-IV program.
Chief Mendez was almost 60 during the Battle of Onyx and still managed to fight like he was 30 years younger.
Last but certainly not least, Sergeant Major Avery Johnson was still kicking -Yoink- all the way into his late 70s.

No, he is ETERNAL

Admittedly, Johnson was a Spartan I. So he would live longer because of his augmentations

Can’t forget all that time in cryo either. It’s part of why the Chief is technically younger than his fellow Spartan-IIs… He spent four years in cryosleep between H3 and H4, thus slowing his biological aging process. Folks like Johnson took multi-month long trips on a regular basis fighting the Insurrection and then the Covenant. All those months of cryosleep culminated in true age being different than biological age.

Gods cannot die

Exactly what I would say

I don’t think we ever find out what happened to him. He was kind of forgotten by the writers after halo 3s epilogue. I assume he’s still a marine and is somewhere unfortunately not where the chief has been recently. Hopefully they will bring him back for at least a camio in infinite.

I was asking seriously

Laughs in SOF’s crew
But seriously, it’s gonna be so awkward (emotionally and legally) when they reunite with the UNSC. Assuming there’s even a UNSC left after the Created uprising.

I hope that Chipps becomes the end villian that Chief, Arby and crew have to team up to stop. Far superior to atriox or even the flood, it is Chipps who will be the chiefs final and most ultimate challenge.

He literally can’t die, he has ascended to the plane of gods but continues to keep his weak human form, just because he pities our weakness.

We’d be lost without him
