Did Bungie/343i spoil the Reclaimer Trilogy?

Did Bungie end up spoiling how the ending to the Reclaimer Trilogy takes place?
Halo 4 takes place at least 3 years after Halo 3. If Halo 5 and 6 are anything like the original trilogy, then they should take place within a year of Halo 4 (2557-2558.)
Now The Return takes place in 2559. In it we see the Elites are waging an all out war against the Brutes. This must mean that they are not fighting the Ancient Evil. So I have a feeling that the Return might take place before halo 5 and 6.
It could be possible that 343i will take a route like Gears in which each game takes place months or even a year or so after the previous one.

Either way, I feel that Bungie kinda spoiled how Halo 6 is going to end. Since Humans are recolonizing Reach, it must mean that humanity turned out all right against the Ancient Evil and are rebuilding.

Remember that Bungie has had no part in the making of the Reclaimer Trilogy or The Return. Also keep in mind that showing us this new enemy in an anime video would be quite silly too.

In plus, just because they don’t mention something, it doesn’t mean it isn’t out there.

What kind of story would it be if the Humans didn’t win?

You should re-read his post. He’s referring to how Humanity is rebuilding on Reach after the supposed events of the Reclaimer Trilogy.

Oh yes, I had misread what he had said. My apologies.

Though yes, it’s quite obvious that humanity will beat the ancient enemy, since people would probably freak out if it ended with us losing. My point still stands about The Return though, giving off information about a game that hadn’t even been announced yet would be a bad move on 343’s part, and it doesn’t necessarily mean that the Elite in question has anything to do with that fight.

In plus, is it not possible that the second war is over by then as well? Or that the ancient enemy hasn’t reached that part of the galaxy yet?

Just because the Elites and Brutes are fighting dose not mean that they are not fighting this ancient evil. Many wars have been fought on multiple fronts against multiple enemies.
WWII Americans fought Germany in Europe and Japan in the Pacific.

Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that “official” answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

What, you’re disappointed to learn prematurely that humanity isn’t exterminated and the efforts of the protagonists aren’t entirely meaningless?

I think you’re just complaining for the sake of complaining.

Either way, we can see the Elites are doing “alright” after Halo 4. We just don’t know when Halo 5 and 6 take place. It could be possible that Halo 5 will take place after the Return.

It does?

Can you please give me a source that states that Halo 4 will be set in 2556. I hear people saying that a lot lately, but all people said was that Cortana would be in early stages of Rampancy which mans 7 years. Give me a quote and I’ll take this thread seriously. Because I am still keen on Halo 4 taking place in 2559.

I think it was said that Cortana will be rampant or at least very close to it, which should put the game around 2556. It could be longer, but I don’t think it would be too much shorter.

Good, so its not confirmed, then. That makes this thread completely baseless and irrelevant.

a real one

Meh… If there is no one to tell the story about brave humans, there is no story about brave humans ;).
BTW. I remember that commercials of Halo 3 took place almost 50 years after Halo 3 ends. At that time, everyone thought that Master Chief is dead. Commercials are not canonical or what?

It happens when cortana is 7/thread.

> It happens when cortana is 7/thread.

Source please.

The Halo Bulletin from 2.8.12 Clearly says “The Master Chief hasn’t been seen for almost five years, and you’re all wondering what we’re going to do to make a comeback. And you’re all scared, because this isn’t just another game.” This puts the game at 2559.

She clearly meant five years since the release of Halo 3. They wouldn’t release such big information in such a vague manner, at such an unrelated topic. I am not saying it isn’t going to be set at the time, but that is certainly NOT a confirmation.

I know where you’re coming from. But I don’t believe is meant like that.
