Did balance changes affect Blitz?

Now that finally both crossplay and fixed card levels are a thing, I want to try some Blitz again. My question here is whether all the balance changes that happened did also affect units in Blitz or are they only for Deathmatch?

Hello,

There was some changes made to Blitz in this patch:
<mark>Blitz</mark>These changes were made to make these units more viable in comparison to the counter units. Cost reductions were made to help improve these interactions.
Banshee cost reduced from 60 to 50.
Hornet reduced from 70 to 60.
Atriox Chosen cost reduced to 200.
Warlord cost reduced to 170.
Pavium cost reduced to 205.
Voridus and Serina Mines increased to 50.
Super unit duration increased from 40 to 60 seconds.

We are aware that it hasn’t gotten a lot of attention in the past and we have a larger list of changes for Blitz planned for a future patch. But outside of the ones listed above, not other changes affected Blitz.

IMO this would be very weird.

I can tell only by experience, but I would say that unit specific changes, regarding HP, DMG etc., are the same values for Blitz units and DM units, e.g. Wraiths, Elites etc etc.

So what I have noticed is that Wraiths do a lot more damage, so do the Scorpions and feel more “tanky”. Also the Elites 5% DMG buff is imo noticeable, especially when faced with UNSC infantry. The second thing is regarding the detect range of units, this has been increased quite strong and I would say that spotting has been easier for cloaked units, e.g. UNSC sniper.

The other thing to underline my theory: back in the day UNSC Kodiaks received a DMG and a range buff, since then Kodiaks in Blitz shoot easily the Spots A & B from their spawn base.

So all in all; General balance changes to units also do affect their values in Blitz. IMO different values never existed, since Elites are Elites, Wraiths are Wraiths etc. etc.

Please correct me if I am totally on the wrong path.

Yes. You are mostly correct, my bad, wasn’t thinking.

Yes, global changes like Health and LoS do affect Blitz as well, although they can additionally be tweaked individually for Blitz.
