Did anyone find the death of Noble Team sad?

Hey guys, i started playing Halo Reah again, as i am bored with Halo 4. At the moment i have started the campaign again, watching ALL the cut scences and was just wondering if any one else found the death of Noble Team sad? Never in my life have i felt so sad for any video game characters (besides the death of Cortana). For me, i think the most emotional death was Jorge, follwed closely by Noble Six. Noble Sixes death was more like a stand off, fighting until he fell.

What do you guys think?

The Spartan III’s were basically sent to their deaths. Every one of them. That was pretty much what the Spartan III program was; an attempt to overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers.

With that being known, I honestly wasn’t surprised that they died. It all seemed inevitable. Jorge, Six, and Carter were the ones that got to me, though.

Jorge was the saddest for me, he died thinking his sacrifice saved the planet, but really it made no difference in the end… Second goes to Carter. Does Jun’s fate ever get revealed in the wider fiction, like one of the books etc?

I’d have to say, I prefer Reach’s storytelling, I felt more of a connection to Team Noble than the Chief. I had hoped that with H4, 343i would manage to rekindle that magic, but alas, it was not to be…

Dude, what’s wrong with you! Spoilers! lol, jk. But really, try to keep spoilers out of titles. Even though the game has been out for years.

Also, Kat. She is the only one to go without a fight. Every one else chose their death or when out swinging. Kat, thats just not how a Spartan deserves to die.

To me, it was Jorge’s death.
The last cutscene at Winter Contingency made him my favorite.
Noble Six’s death was probably second most sad.
I think Kat’s death was the way i’d want to go out. You are thinking and all of a sudden your mind goes blank.

Epic spoiler in your post. Thankfully, I already completed Halo 4. Anyways, I voted Jorge but it was a tough one between him and Kat. Damn, Kat’s death was just out of no where. One moment she is talking and and then non existent.

I say Emile he was was with you until the end.

Jorge was the saddest, since he died believing he saved his home planet.
Kat’s was the most unexpected, considering it was just ONE needle rifle shot.
Carter’s was the stupidest, considering he could have just shot the butt off or gone The Storm style.
Emile’s was the most bad-yoink!- because he was with you till the end.

Not 100%, but I thought that Pelican was the standard model, which I’m pretty sure carries no armaments…

I wouldn’t exactly say that, sure the lines you’re saying are straight form the quotes of the characters themselves.
But… he blew up a Covenant CSO super-carrier. Do you know how huge those things are? They’re like 5 times the size of the UNSC infinity. His sacrifice helped TREMENDOUSLY!

Reach fell, the goal of destroying that carrier was to save Reach. An impressive feat, I will agree, but it didn’t achieve the goal…

At the time I wondered why a marine didn’t activate the bomb since Jorge (a Spartan for crying out loud) is worth more then a marine in terms of surviving a fight.
But then as I thought about it there were no marines that came out the shield as Noble 6 had, so I assume they all died. It seemed a real waste to leave the sabres on the corvette, because when the fleet promised by Dot in the opening cutscne of Long Night of Solace arrived with the nukes it’s possible the supercarries could have been destroyed as well.
It would have been very useful in-atmosphere to have a squadron of Sabres backing up the UNSC air force.

Carter. I wasn’t phased by Jorge so much. It’s the way that Carter went that got to me.

I don’t think I felt any emotions throughout the entire Reach campaign.

Only Jorge and Emiles, but hey that’s a million more times emotion than Halo 3 ever had

I’m surprised by the results so far. I think Carters was more emotional because he just rammed himself into the spider thing with “Carter out” as his last words. Just got to me.

Most emotional Halo yet IMHO. They all sacrificed something on their way out, with the exception of maybe Kat (though she would have if she could).

I could vote for any of these and feel correct in my response, but to play Devil’s Advocate I voted Kat. Her death was not heroic but realistic, like what you would expect 99.9% of the time in war. It was not courageous - she had no time to be courageous. It was not edge-of-your-seat intense. There were no battle fleets, worlds, Halos, or other plot devices hanging in the balance. It was not glorious…

It was not anything like the others. It was senseless, abrupt, violent, and, to me, highlighted the violence and sadness of war. I didn’t get emotional at first. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized, crud, this is how most people die in war.

I voted for George when it comes to commuting suicide , George saved more people.

But Kat died like most people do in war, a random unlucky bullet.

I was happy when Kat died, she annoyed me. A lot.

Yep.

Reach’s characters weren’t interesting to any significant degree.
