So I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but one thing has crossed my mind while playing Infinite.
Did 343i plan for Infinite’s progression system to be slow?
I’m wondering this as the usual f2p multiplayer game has 2-3 month long “seasons”… but season 1 (Heroes of Reach) of Infinite goes ALL the way to… May?
Also, around 90% of the “free rewards” for non paying players are literally just “challenge swaps”, which would imply that 343i knew that the good majority of players would want to swap their challenges for better/easier ones to level up faster.
Just wondering what everyone else was thinking about this?

They already explained why Season 1 extends to May. Firstly, given that they released Season 1 early they wanted more time to bring in more patches/fixes since we’re still in Beta phase, and second, they wanted to have more time to develop Season 2 to ensure it’s content is up to par with the very harsh current player expectations. Keep in mind the main Season 1 battlepass isn’t the only one and there will be multiple events that include 100% free tracks, for example the Tenrai event which is free and includes Yoroi, launching on the 23rd.
Probably there is a reason the calls to add match exp and performance exp was ignored from the beta. And instead they promised a separate progression system so that challenges will remain the only way to level the BP.
They really want people to buy exp boosters and challenge swaps.
