I’m wearing the Halo: CE Mark V armor and everything, and the CE helmet… only it says the helmet is the Mark IV. Am I missing something or is this supposed to be right? When I look at the actual helmet listed as the Mark V, it looks like an older variant of the helmet Chief used in CE… like the pre-prototype or something.
Idk, it just seems like the helmets got mixed up… Can anyone clear this up?
Strangely enough… The Actual MARK IV (4) helmet in Halo 5, looks more like the Mark V from CE/H4 than the Current Mark V does.
343 managed to… butcher the pretty looks of Mark V in H5. The Mark IV in H5 is very much the model used by Chief and company in their early days as Mjölnir users.

Yeah, I feel like 343 shoulda just made the Mark V like it originally was and modify the Mark IV to be a little blockier, it only makes sense

Yeah they might’ve messed up on the Mark V helmet but they did not on the Armor which I found ironic for some reason.

Somehow the new armor makes you look even more chubby than the original CE Mark V.
The MK 5 helmet that we all know and love is MK 4, but with shield emitters and other nice jazz. Visually they’re the same.
That’s probably why 343 wanted to make it different, and probably why they specified alpha. We don’t know if this MK 5 is the same one from CE.

Oh yeah some of them do but dont remember which armor it is.
No the Mk 4 is spot on to its depictions in Halo Wars.

The helmet, maybe (though, you can spot differences if you look hard enough…) but the armor? not so much. We can’t all look epic as hell though…

What about the Mark 6 gen 1? That like almost spot on in helmet.
It ain’t mixed up, but the Mark V doesn’t look quite right, this much is true.

Mark V from Halo 1, 3, Reach, 4, and Wars is now called Mark lV. This is my understanding. The new Mark V looks off. Not bad, but not the real Mark V.

The armor from Halo Wars was never called MK 5. It was MK 4. MK 4 was MK 5 without shields. The spartans only had shields in Halo Wars because the devs wanted them to for gameplay.
I want them to take another crack at it. I’m almost certain they have many different artists making the final renders. Maybe commission the H4 artist to try again, with pouches?
