Unless I’m crazy. it takes the same amount of time to move your reticle to the diagonal corners of your screen as is takes to move it to the horizontal edges, if not quicker, even though it’s technically further. (on gamepad btw)
Anyone else who thinks it feels this way?
When moving diagonally, you are multiplying the speeds of x and y movement. You can tweak your settings a lot in Infinite compared to older games.
Not just me then. I could not find where to change this in the settings
Maybe it’s programmed wrong. They should be using polar coordinates, but it might be in cartesian.
You are 100% correct.
The horizontal axis acceleration is higher than the vertical axis even when balancing to make up for it.
I think we should be able to turn acceleration off all together.
You and I must have realized this at the same time, I just posted a thread about it. It also has acceleration applied when looking up and not down it seems as well.
I have no idea what that means
Set your vertical speed double for a more squared box movement feeling
Will the diagonal sensitivity become lower by doing that though?
Not sure, but it’s recommended by many people, since it basically makes the vertical speed match the horizontal speed, for equal boxed aiming
Ah yeah that makes sense. But personally I prefer having lower vertical sensitivity. Since that’s been the default since CE (I’m pretty sure at least) that’s just what I’m used to by now.
