Dexterity =/= Speed Boost

I was playing around with Dexterity on weapon swapping, and it didn’t appear to have much an effect. But when I was playing with Speed Boost, I noticed a huge difference.

Here’s my video discussing the topic.

What do you guys think?

I think it’s pretty funny how I completely forgot about the secondary effect of dexterity until now, even though I use it quite a bit. I only use it for the reload times, so I guess the weapon switch times don’t matter very much to me. :confused:

Very nice video! I would agree with the false advertising bit, but I think the weapon switching times should stay as is, as opposed to having the benefits of speed boost’s weapon switch speeds in dexterity.

I must say I’ve never noticed weapon swapping speed and I use it on most of my classes.

But then again I mostly use it for the reload in FFA and SpartanOps as it’s fast paced action.

I noticed with Speed boost though and I think dexterity should stay as it is with just the reload as people would use it more often for things like BR and Plasma pistol.

I like the swap speeds as they are now with dexterity.
I’d rather not get shot by a sniper and then finished off by a precision weapon half a second later.

Especially the noob combo usage would increase.

Dexterity breaks the game you realise?

Hyper quick reload times makes many power weapons that are balanced by long reload times unbalanced.

On top of that if anyone comes near me I can whip out my bolt shot extra fast and destroy them.

I’ve known about dexterity’s full use since the game came out.

I appreciate all the posts and thoughts!

Having been through Halo since the beginning, I’m just used to reloading normally and in some cases reload cancelling. While the faster reloading with Dexterity is nice, I didn’t feel it was needed in Halo 4. Even the competitive settings in Team Throwdown don’t use Dexterity much, instead it’s Explosives. I knew intuitively that faster weapon reloading would overpower power weapons, but I just didn’t think openly about it.

Again, if Dexterity was patched to improve weapon switching much like Speed Boost does, it would be nice, but again isn’t needed.

But this also brings the point of a classic playlist, where Halo 4 plays like the Arena shooter it was originally built on!
