Because it makes it where 1v1 encounters no longer become about skill but rather about who has the right enhancement at the right time, unlike extended radar or extra ammo this takes away from crucial elements of halo. I remember plenty of times on the Pit, dodging two rockets and BRing the guy while he reloaded because that was the one flaw of the rocket launcher, it’s reload time. Now with dexterity you take away that one thing and make it powerful on everything…
I wouldn’t mind if dexterity was rewarded like the way adrenaline was awarded in Mortal Kombat 3 (yeah, i took it back that far) were each hard-to-earn-medal you get like triple kill, killing frenzy, sniper spree, etc. you recieve a 10 second window to reload/swap weapons faster. Other than that this makes it where the only way to win is to be even, and logically speaking, the most even is not having it (Occams Rzr!)
I saw 1v1 and stopped reading. 1v1’s determine absolutely nothing, other than who is the bigger “scrub.” And yes, if you say the word “scrub” you automatically think 1v1’s determine skill.

Wow, way to misinterpret what the guy was saying and come across as a rude arrogant jerk.
He’s talking about games where you find yourself in a 1v1 situation, not a 1v1 c*ck off challenge match the tryhards always challenge you with when you pwn them.
It really does seem like the most invaluable perk. Much like how Sleight of Hand was in Black Ops. It should either be default for everyone, or not exist at all. I can’t think of a situation where Dexterity wouldn’t be the most valuable perk, unless you are using Ammo.
Yeah dexterity will absolutely be one of the top most useful perks. A big reason being unlike some perks that only help you in a specific scenario or whatever, you will be using dexterity constantly. (unless of course you use the storm rifle and plasma pistol, and even then it helps you switch between your weapons fast too)
> It too useful in a 1v1 not to use… I feel like I’m forced to use it now.
In most any situation it would be the best. Explosives would be a niche if you’re going to spam all 3 of your Plasmas at a time, and Ammo would be nice if you want to dominate with the Sniper, but those are both very niche uses.

Agreed.
I certainly don’t want to play in those styles. I’ll take quick weapon swapping and a fast reload for my AR/BR any damn day.
I feel im forced to use it. This game, no matter how much they try to “balance” it out, will come down to a few main setting for everyone.
then people will come here crying about balance issues, but thats just the nature of having such cheesy/gimmick filled game mechanics. A few will stand out as the best possible combinations and everyone will start using them. Those who dont, will get dominated.
Thus why I believe the dam things should not exists in a Halo game at all. I dont care about people who tell me im living in the past. I AM! Why? Because I know what I had and how its better then what im getting.
> If your good and can land your shots, you won’t need it. If you waste your whole clip to kill one enemy you deserve to get killed.
The DMR does not have enough ammo for 3 kills. Dexterity will help against multiple opponents. Either for reloading, or switching quickly to another weapon.

I was mostly commenting on the 1v1 scenario the OP outlined. As for your post none of the Rifles from my understanding have a deep enough clip to kill 3 players unless your scoping the LR for the whole mag with its 4sk. And if your getting yourself in a 3v1 then your playing bad.
I have no doubt dexterity will be a nice mod, I just don’t think it’s as powerful as you guys make it out to be.

If both players know the map equally then generally a 1v1 will determine most of the skill that is required to play Halo depending on the map because the gameplay is almost solely focused around analysing the other plays map movement and frankly that’s one of the most required skills in Halo other then reticle placement and basic movement. Also calling 1v1 players a “scrub” is the most contradictory thing out, you must hold some sort of grudge against them…
simply put, yes it may be an advantage but no it wont decide who the better player is unless both players are extremely close skill wise in which case there are 100 other factors that could decide the outcome of a fight.

Exactly, often in MLG the deciding tipping scale is imbalanced by power weapons or high ground, not much else. In Slayer is generally based on power weapons as well and how you place yourself throughout the map. Being too out and in the open is never a smart idea when dealing with multiple players.
