Just wanted to give some feedback on the tech flight, and didn’t get a survey. So far this game is epic, but it’s just a hair short of capturing Halo’s essence perfectly. For example:
That map with the slightly ajar static door? Describe that to a passerby and they might be like, “Counter Strike?” And I wouldn’t blame them. This is Halo, it’s a sandbox, it relies on physics for some of its best moments. So to me, those doors should be on hinges, so that they can be slammed open with explosions or melee attacks, splattering those on the other side. The announcer could even yell, “DOOR SPLATTER” or some such. Now THAT is Halo, no?
In that same vein, we need to be able to nudge/bounce off each other, teammates or otherwise.
And where is that glass shatter sound when the needler kills?
And those or just some thoughts I’ve had. Keep the essence of Halo in mind in these final months and ya’ll will have struck gold. I can recall sooo much fun with the balance beam on that old city map (Headlong?), the run away train on Terminal, the big turbine on Zanzibar, literally moving the flag’s home base by driving the mammoth around in Halo 3, etc. If you sink too deep into the symmetrical, highly competitive types of maps, you’ll lose the magic that made Halo so damn fun.

Yes, for real. Or at least I hope they’re for real, since threads like these have stopped being funny for a while now. So if it’s a joke thread I’m giving it a 2/10 for being too unoriginal. If they’re serious, a 3/10 since doors are the last thing that makes me think <Other FPS here> instead of thinking about Halo.
Though do like the idea of physics having a larger role in the game - remember splattering people with crates and cones? Good times.

It’s a -Yoink- joke. And even worse feedback lmfao.

I mean that and the title are kind of overexaggerated but I think there’s nothing wrong with wanting to see a little more of Halo’s signature physics.
That said, there are some good examples of it as well, like the crushable furniture in Bazaar (it’s nice to finally be reminded that we weigh 900 lbs!).
