This game is good let’s make that clear. It can be very fun and enjoyable. Then it becomes so nuclear frustrating I want to uninstall it!!!
Why can’t I rumble 1v1? Why do I have to be hostage to other players? If my friend and I want to play why cant we play 2v2 in dom or rumble? Same goes for games against the AI. We should be able to play 2v2 or even solo vs the AI. You give us challenges and then make the outcome dependent upon some random teammate we get matched up with, this is complete garbage and I cannot believe the game was released like this. All match making should have player count options, including vs the AI. Oh, thanks for the challenges for games vs the AI and we can’t even select the game mode, genious call whoever orchestrated that. Got a challenge for rushing the AI, oh but I can’t because I’m stuck on a team with players that want to turtle and boom a 2 hour game.
On to the connection issues. I’m just a few more network errors or game out of sync issues from smashing something.
Not to mention all of the beta feedback that went ignored, like when I’m trying to open a pack and party leader backs out of the game menu and I don’t not get to see my cards.
The crap color schemes for teams…come on. Red, yellow, white and blue, purple, green. Do something orange and yellow together are brutal, not as brutal as all the blues look together.
Also, why would you ship the game with only one blitz map. The same one we played endlessly during beta.
This was more more Ranty than I intended but the more I think about it the more annoying it is!!!
I agree with every point made here. The game is great, but the playlist options and connection issues are horrible. Along with the glitches opening the blitz packs.
The challenges like pro rush may not be so bad if we could actually pick a playlist that wasn’t 3v3 and random as hell against the AI.
I really don’t understand how simple features like 2v2 stronghold or 1v1 against match made AI weren’t implemented. Even Halo Wars 1 had better playlist options. This is a step backwards.
Please fix PC connection and crash and latency issues! I bought this game, Ultimate Edition and cannot enjoy this at all. I played through campaign, which kicked and lost saved data multiple times and I get kickes mid multiplayer AND I lose teammates or opponents every match. The PC community is asking you, no we are pleading with you to fix these issues!!!
It’s the beginning of the game. Give it some time. I love the game right now and luckily haven’t experienced any connection issues. Just give them some time between now and the next update. How many games nowadays do developers have to release for people to understand they’re shipping with issues that stems from all the technology imposed into the games. You KNOW it’s not going to be perfect, so why treat it as that? And the excuse of I spent $60 on this won’t cut it if you basically know the game is going to have some issues at the beginning. Most, if not all, ship with issues. Give it a break. It’s been out for such a short time.

This is what’s why everyone hates millennials. We should expect it to be bad because it is new. Wait!? What!?!? No. Microsoft and 343 should not release a game with this many known issues. We are trying to make sure the people who can fix things fix them soon by making sure we are heard because we paid for a game, not a load screen to watch buffer indefinitely. You are the real problem.

Of course we will give them time, but not everyone is patient. If nothing gets fixed by the next update, the population could drastically drop. Halo Wars 1 didn’t have problems like this. There are games that launch with no issues. This is clearly not one of them. I’m sure they will fix these problems and it’s in their interest to do so. The question is can everyone wait long enough for that to happen before quitting the game?

Issues and bugs are one thing. Features left out or not included such as 2v2 and 1v1 including against AI is just bad design. Shipping the game with ONE blitz map is just lazy.
The matching making system needs to be redone. First select 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 then select game type and launch against AI or players. Much like Halo Wars 1.

It’s very true. I will not be waiting much longer. New season of Overwatch will be starting soon, Seige just got new operators and maps not to mention the new Ghost Recon looks promising. I however, have played Halo Wars since 2009 and have long awaited a sequel which makes this whole thing more frustrating.
so many of these problems were brought up during the beta tests as well. They have had plenty of time to address the bugs. Again though my biggest issues aren’t bugs they are issues with shotty designs and matchmaking flaws.

Yes but why do we always get an incomplete game? I dont mind waiting more time if the game gets polished. This has to end, DLC is for expanding the experience of the game not for finishing the game 6 months later after the release date.

Sir, I’ve been playing Halo since CE. And trust me, I do not fall into this millennial category you speak of. Ironically and hypocritically, you are being the stereotypical millennial. Ranting, posting, complaining, because you don’t have your way. I’m sure 343i knows what problems exist and don’t need another useless thread complaining about them. I’m never shocked to see the reaction some people have. These are humans making games, they’re not perfect. They will be fixed. That, my friend, is why you are this new “millennial” that has become so stuck up and needs everything perfect all the time, or else all hell breaks loose. Which is what’s happening. Enjoy the game they gave you. If not, leave. No one is forcing you to stay.

You’re right. Nobody is forcing anyone to stay. Just keep in mind. The more people that leave. The less money 343 will make. Keeping the customers interested in their game should be at the top of their list. Especially with the content they plan on rolling out. I’m sure there’s a lot of people who have not purchased the season pass yet or may just want to buy the DLC as it gets released. No sense in buying any of that if the game can’t at least run matchmaking properly and have a smooth server connection.

I hear you guys, believe me…I’ve been with Halo since the beginning (beta-tested it in fact!) But sadly because of the demand and business the video game industry has become…We as the consumer want more and want now. If you actually ever got to tour and see how a game studio like 343 works, you’d be amazed at how much holiday these guys give up to get a game done. The best video would be the DVD that came with the Halo 2 collectors edition waaaay back in the day. You have to look at video games like a business now. Microsoft does care about its people but lets be honest, it wants to make money, as does 343 so they can continue to do what they love. Video games will always come out “unfinished” and they will make seasons passes, DLC, and micro-transactions as long as people will buy them. Me? I personally buy REQs and Decks season passes because I support 343, and I will continue to do so.
TL;DR - Halo is a business, they will treat it as such. Its not that Video Games are “unfinished” but they leave it open to release more content…its what makes this generation happy.
You are missing the point completely. Stating that “they don’t need another useless thread” is completely untrue. Obviously there are not enough. Look how many were spawned after each of the beta tests, oddly enough the game gets released with much if not all of the same issues at hand that were present in the beta. Again, many of the issues are not necessarily bugs or problems as they are design flaws to matchmaking and presentation. If they do not need anymore “useless threads” they could post something for us sorta Q&A like regarding each of the issues or at least the ones that get mentioned so frequently.

For me the bets fix for all of this is to have a matchmaking filter where you can select if you want a communicative teammate or not. I respect that some people don’t have mics or are playing somewhere they can’t talk, but likewise it’s an RTS: coordination is key.
let me bind keys to my mouse. Let me use my minimap even when my titanic base is underneath the minimap. I need to be able to respond to battles while I’m macroing. I don’t want notifications that I lost a marine squad. I sent them out there to fight.
All I need is to know is when things finish so I can send them to die or upgrade them. Let pings be more noticeable. I don’t need garrisoned forced to be recognized as an active squad.
I agree the ping is hardly noticeable. It was nice in the first one because the ping was large and colored based on the player…although the color scheme in this game is terrible and you can barely differentiate between all the blues and the red orange and orange yellow.
