Developers have one of the hardest jobs ever.
They can’t appease everyone. If they keep the game like it was before people will complain it is all the same and that it lacks originality.
If they change it people will complain that it is too different and that they should keep it the same.
Everyone wants the game kept the same but not really the same because why not just play the old games.

As this is my day job, I can attest to this 1000%
Neither should they even attempt to appease everyone. I’m in the process of trying to make an RTS, and not any time have I thought how I can appease as many RTS fans as possible.
The problem is that they try to, and from the looks of it, they also try to lure fans of other franchises to Halo through mimicking. ADS anyone?
