First off, I don’t so much mind the difficulty of the Challenge system itself as seems to be the rage nowadays. I play for fun, and speed of leveling up/cosmetics don’t concern me much. That said, I don’t like losing credit for stuff on general principle. I just played a game of Control wherein I received a Gunslinger medal for 5 Sidekick kills (I assure you no other pistol was used) and yet I received credit for only 3 Sidekick kills on the Challenge bar. I would post screenshots but I’m apparently too new to be allowed to do so. What the…? Anyway, thank you for coming to my TED talk.
There may very well be some problems occurring with tracking kills for challenges, but also, be aware that the kill has to actually come from the weapon for it to count for the challenge. For example, if you shoot an opponent with the Sidekick, and then they fall off the edge of the map, the kill feed will show that you killed them with the Sidekick, but it won’t actually count towards the challenge.
I’ve had it happen a few times, but not consistently. When I needed fusion core kills for a challenge I got two in a game, had the actual “kong” medals for both of them, but the challenge only tracked a single. Also happened a couple times with weapon specific challenges didn’t track each kill with the weapon.
I think its part of a larger issue with Infinite concerning things like hit registration.
