Details/Easter Eggs on Weapons

Just out of sheer boredom I decided to create this list of little details and Easter eggs on the weapons in Halo 5. Some of these I only found because I went straight up to it in Forge. If you have anything you want to add I’ll put it on the list.

  1. "Semper Vigilans" on the Whispered Truth - Most people have probably noticed this, but on the slide of the Whispered Truth, it says “Semper Vigilans” - ONI’s motto, which is Latin for “Always Vigilant.”

  2. Japanese symbol on the top and bottom of the CE Pistol - Most people probably also know about the symbol on top, but there is also one on the bottom of the magazine, which were on the pistol in Halo 1. The symbol on top is scichi" in Japanese, translating to the number 7, referencing to the number’s significance to Bungie. The symbol on the bottom means “chikara,” translating to “strength” or “power” (Credit to Walrificus for the meanings of the symbols).

  3. "Big Scary Laser" on the Spartan Laser and SPNkr - On the side of the Spartan Laser, there is a very small warning label that says: “BIG SCARY LASER - Do not look into beam with remaining eye.” This label is also on top of the Smart Link module of the SPNKr Rocket Launcher.

  4. "Remember Reach" on the Oathsworn - Next to the trigger on both sides of the Oathsworn, there is writing that says “Remember Reach.”

  5. Wolf on the Nornfang - I didn’t notice this until it was pointed out at me, but there is a wolf on the side of the Nornfang that blends almost perfectly with the urban camouflage on the weapon. This is likely a reference to Linda’s “Lone Wolf” tendencies, befitting her as a scout/sniper (Credit to Killer Orca for the meaning).

  6. Noble 6 Easter Egg on the Grenade Launcher - On the Grenade Launcher and Pro Pipe UI screen, at the very top in fine text it says “ID: NOBLE6” obviously as a Reach Easter egg.

  7. Misriah Armory on the Golf Club - On the side of the Golf Club you can see that it says “MISRIAH” (Misriah Armory) with the UNSC Logo next to it. This one is hard to spot since you can’t see it from First Person.

  8. 343 Reference on the Assault Rifle - Under the VISR box on the AR Smart Screen, it says “3.43” BIOS", likely a reference to 343 Industries. (Credit to Nate00000000000).

  9. ODST Emblem on the SPNKr Prime - Underneath the Smart Link module on the SPNKr Prime there is the ODST Emblem, likely a reference to Mickey from Halo 3: ODST.

  10. Turrent Mount Type on Jorge’s Chaingun - On the back of Jorge’s Chaingun, the words “R7 mount” are engraved into the bottom bar, referring to the turret mount type for stands or Warthogs.

Nice list Emberciz.

Just so you know, the symbol on top of the M6D is “scichi” in Japanese, translating to the number 7.
The number 7 is in reference to the significance it holds with Bungie.

On the bottom, it’s “chikara” in Japanese, translating to “strength” or “power.”
Probably in reference to the insane TTK of the pistol.

Thanks

On Jorge’s Chaingun, you’ll find the Misriah Armory symbol and Jorge’s spartan ID number.

Don’t forget the little “343” on the assault rifle

  1. The infected energy sword has the same handle as the Prophet’s Bane.
  2. Prophet’s Bane has the energy sword handle that was supposedly used by the Arbiter in the Halo campaigns.
  3. The Blood of Suban, Blissful Slumber and the Pool of Radiance have the A symbol of arena season.
  4. The SPNKR Prime has an ODST symbol that is red and stell which is likely associated with Mickey from Halo 3:ODST.
  5. Oathsworn has a bunny symbol referencing Kelly’s signature of being fast.
These are some of the easter eggs or details that could be added although change my wording a bit to fit your post.

The wolf on Nornfang is a reference to Linda’s “lone wolf” tendencies, befitting her skill as a scout/sniper.
Im not sure the Infected energy sword having the same handle is an easter egg, I think its recycled code.

Ohh sorry I’m not sure if it was an easter egg.

I didn’t include the Energy Sword, SPNKr Prime and Oathsworn because those ones are obvious.

When holding the CE pistol, you sometimes get a special death animation when you die

That’s only when you die by it.

I know that sometimes when you kill people, they do the classic “twirl & drop” from CE … but you guys are saying the Magnum wielder also has a death animation? I’ve never seen it because I never die when I have the CE magnum, of course. I kill everyone until I’m out of ammo, then lay it down on the ground and say “that’ll do, gun. That’ll do.”
lol. No, but I’ve never noticed that.

I have never heard or ever seen anything about that, a very good find indeed Emberciz

Oh ok, thanks for telling me.

I’ve updated the list with some Eggs on Jorge’s Chaingun, the Assault Rifle, the SPNKr Prime, and even found a Big Scary Laser label on the SPNKr. If you have any more leave them here and I will add them to the list.

That’s awesome dude! I have never notice these things at all! I like the ODST symbol on the SPNKR!

This is more for the noble skin but on the noble skin for the assault rifle and the magnum you can see see number for noble 6 B312
