Detail Is The Name Of The Game

I want to see more attention to detail in halo 4. The new maps for anniversary were definetely a step in the correct direction, however once we break away from reach and journey into the new vast world of halo 4, it would be great if armor and the environment played key roles in how the game is played.

  1. Its cool to have sweet looking armor with illuminating lights and intricate helmets, but in the past games the armor has been inert and hasn’t affected health or damage resistance. I think 343 should think about making different armor pieces which can be resistant to different attacks. This would put immense amounts of strategy into matchmaking, that which has lacked in some gametypes of past games.

  2. I have always appreciated the attention to detail in halo for its environment. However, we haven’t seen rain, snow, thunder, lightning, earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, etc. affect how we approach a situation at all. I would like to see this changed. For example, when it rains, it would be cool to have water dripping down your visor, or if it snows, you’ll see your hands and gun with a white layer upon them. If it were a catastrophe, ash would fall and settle in my scope, this would astound many players to the fullest extent.

Feel free to comment and/or disagree.

actualy, the name of the game is Halo 4 =)

on topic i agree with the second part, but not the first, armour should be purly for visuals.

I agree with your second point but I disagree with the first one, in my opinion I think that armour should remain purely aesthetic.

Halo 4 is the game, and gameplay will bring new and exciting adventures with the chief and a certain excitement and pure curiousity which will stir the soul and core of halo…Fear not, for 343 will make it so.

I understand your desire to keep the armor aesthetic, but keep an open mind, for if 343 decides to change it would certainly be an interesting revamping of previous halos.

Halo’s armor customization has never been about giving boost or affecting stats, it’s solely designed to be cosmetic so players enter a match as equals. Armor abilities kinda made that a little wonky in Reach though…

But I agree to the point of having effects on the visor based on the environment. Been hoping for that for years now.

  1. This is something I have thought about to great extent myself. I would say it’s cool in theory, but I would want such a thing to stay out of matchmaking. Halo has always been about starting on a level playing field. Perhaps it could be a custom games option, like “Armor bonuses on/off”. I’m always up for options.

  2. This sounds cool in theory, but I would reserve judgement until I saw such a system in action.

Took the words right outta my brain.

Definitely yes.
