Desync Issues Better - Confirmed

All Halo Fans,

Well after seeing the winter update notes, 343 finally notated the desync issues were fixed per networking improvements.

This was the "Main’ reason I left Halo Infinite due to the mechanics of the game being a major disadvantage during gameplay.

After re-installing the game after a little over 9 months, the crew and I had to test this for improvements.

Gotta hand it to 343i, cause after 2 matches in the new Map “Empyrean”, shots were registering correctly on all weapons tested.

The final test, SWAT (aka Tactical Slayer). And boy did it feel good to spank that a** with the crew when shots are registering/counting with headshots galore lol

@343 well done on getting this solved!!

You call it „confirmed“ after 3 games? My recent captures today show at least massive causes of desync. Give it a little more time, nothing changed.

I actually think that the desync is even worse. It is more noticeable in custom games imo

I would 100% disagree that it’s fixed. Last night I got shot around corners, not realizing I was being shot and enemies sponging. For me it is worse since the last update.

Now I don’t have video but do watch a lot of streamers and they are having the same issues as most of the community, point being it’s live and recorded.

As for 343i they deserve no credit because the game is a mess still and bland for modes compared to MCC (credit wise better than it was). All the stuff they are releasing should have been released on day 1.

there’s still massive desync, about a 5th of my melees don’t do damage even though it lunges at them and makes the impact sound.

LMFAO far from it, quite the opposite even, after latest update the game runs worse than it ever has in the past few months since they finally allowed for regional matchmaking. “One step forward, two steps backwards” - 343i

I don’t think it’s totally fixed yet. I got a couple of odd games in the customs browser. Dude tanked a rocket.

LMAO!! Desync isn’t even close to being fixed. It’s worse, much worse. Ghost shots, getting/shooting through walls, and shots in general, not counting, are very much a thing right now. The only thing they fixed was melee registration. The game is currently unplayable, period.

I would have to re read the release statement by 343I, but I’m pretty sure they said something like desync should be better, not fixed.

So desync is still a thing.

Thanks @LgndryDad

Yup, things are better OP, not fixed.

The desync is still very bad for me. In one instance a plasma pistol shot tracked me mid air before I even turned the corner on livefire one game. Like the enemy saw me on their client a good second before I saw them, zero time to react.

There was another instance an enemy fired a fully charged plasma pistol shot across the map and I went behind cover to dodge it. The plasma shot actually curves around the wall and takes all my shields, lol.

So many instances that I get the final headshot on the enemy but it blanks out because I am already dead on the server. There are games that I have 28 ping and when I fire the first shot they register like the game is running at 100+ ping.

@NamedKiller08 If possible, you should change the title since it is very missleading.

Better is very relative in this statement. I would argue it is much worse.

Dang title got my hopes up.
Nevermind, back into hibernation

Descync is still not fixed. Not sure how you can close the case after only 3 games.

Desync, shot registration, etc. have not been fixed, over a year after release, it’s just bad. If you want to test the game stability, go into Bot Boot-Camp, you won’t need to think, maybe it’s cheating, or maybe it’s the game, you will know, it’s the game, and as I said it’s bad.

The “Search Region Local” Option they added now allows me to finally experience De-Synch.

Prior to that, 80% of my matches had ping times of 250+ ms because their connection server thinks some place in eastern Europe is closer to me in Alberta Canada than Seattle is. When it picked Seattle (NW USA) servers, I get ping times of 20-30 ms for 4v4 and 30 - 40 ms for BTB. At 250+ ms ping times, you can’t even tell what De-Synch was.

So now at least, I can see what people are talking about for De-Synch

Edit Dec 17, ~20:00 MDT: I just tried the December update. I played 2 complete matches of BTB Social, started a third, checked the ping times and I quit. Tried to get a BTB match, but after 1+ minutes of waiting I cancelled it and I’m done. All the BTB matches were 125+ ms ping times, which is 3 to 4 times the ping time I was getting before the Dec update. The lag makes it unplayable garbage again. Did they shut down the Seattle / US NW Server and now route me though somewhere in Florida?

I’ve definitely noticed improvements in melee blanks and haven’t had any wierd issues after getting hi-jacked or weapon jams, so that’s all great (and aligns with the patch notes).

Can’t say I’ve noticed any real change in overall hit detection in ranged fights though.

To me now it’s better for sure, I even started to hit people with snipe rifle, shock rifle and stalker rifle more properly, melee’s looks better now too.
But I have one issue, a weird feeling if you wish, like everyone became way more accurate with their shots after update, like ttk was reduced idk about 20% or so. People just killing me like a pro’s everytime with any weapon. Before update I was able to run or do some moves to evade death even 2v1 situations , but now I’m just dying so even in social nearly every game is sweaty as…
