Destruction Derby

I was thinking that since Warthog’s now have a lot of extra damage they can exhibit while still remaining driveable, why not biuld a really good Destruction Derby? I know Forge is not yet available, but 343 could do it. If the track was made right (must be a figure 8) and damage infliction was adjusted to extend vehicle life a bit (turn off that red exploding function), I’m thinking it could be a lot of fun. Probably could throw the awesome GunGoose in there along with the Hogs. Player carried weapons should be heavy, Hydra, Rockets etc. Maybe the track surface is deadly to Spartans, so players have to stay in the vehicle. There could also be columnar obstacles along the track edges to unpredictably block Rockets and Hydra bullets. Hmm curious, can you swing a Hammer when you are in a vehicle? That might be fun. I guess everyone’s most hated vehicle, the Chopper, might have a valid role here as well, since it’s good at ramming.

DDs are fun in real life. Craziest one I ever saw was inside the Houston Astrodome. The smoke and fumes were downright halucinogenic.

I think I tried building one in Forge once but didn’t have any success. I feel that if 343 put just a small amount of effort into this concept it could be a total blast. Sort of like the glorius insanity of Super Fiesta but in Hogs and other vehicles. In fact the current map Behemoth has a smidge of what I’m talking about, in that driving a Hog on that map is a lot of fun. I particularly like making sweet jumps on those aprons at the back of each tower.

yes i remember once i played destruction derby with hogs and mongooses, there was a map created where everyone started somewhere in a sort tower and they had to choose a vehicle a hog or goose and then via a glide they came in the battlefield where they had to push each other off and you could shoot with rockets too, with those rockets you can make huge blasts which can push opponents off that was reallyyyy cool if they make it here that playlist will get a lot of people and i am going to play that all day in matchmaking, now you have the cool gungoose too, that behemoth is indeed a very good map for the vehicles i always take a mongoose or warthog and drive in circles there, it feels like racing in a circuit, halo 4 had often race in matchmaking that was very fun too, everyone had a mongoose and were racing laps and you could get exp with them too, i hope they bring race and destruction derby to it, oooh and gravity hammers to smash vehicles off XD i think i remember that too but that is maybe something too for an infection destruction derby where the survivors have to kill the infected alpha zombie who is walking slow with a gravity hammer

People have been forging them since H3. Its been in action sack in previous games so theres a good chance it appears in Infinite. The maps are usually a giant ring slightly slanted towards a gap in the middle. One Halo 5 version had sections of the ring disappear as time went on to make the track more narrow
