Destructible Environments in BTB

I thought it would be cool to have destructible environments in btb. Because imagine leveling an entire building in King of the Hill or even Slayer.

I’ve always wanted destructible environments. This gets my vote every time. I think some stuctures in Halo would be very hard to destroy, but things like small buildings, barrels and crates should be destructible.

this would be very awesome. But, if they implement it, it would be only some parts like a couple of windows or one bridge, nothing like BF3 or BF4. Dreams aside, 343 is struggling with the engine and finishing the game, so i will mark it as a “i would like if…”

why don’t we just use the “cloud-based destruction” that crackdown 3 had in multiplayer?

It would depend on how much the game can take both on Xbox one and the new console.

Well, crackdown 3 wrecking zone does have a fully destructible environment, so we know that Xbox One CAN handle destruction. The real limiting factors would be the map size and player count

I think destructible environments in Halo could be pretty neat, but if it was in Infinite, I think they would have shown it off in the campaign demo.

I was thinking in Big Team Battle or maybe 4v4, not campaign.

If they were gonna implement something like that, I’d think it would be across the entire game.

In the past games, many features have been restricted to multiplayer

My only concern is balancing the destruction so it doesn’t completely kill spawns. Say you’re team spawns behind a wall to cover you from sniper fire… if that wall is gone it could potentially lead to a massacre.

This game is held back by original Xbox One console. 13 year old hardware. So they can’t do cool things like destructible environments… Unless they cancel the old gen console versions.

That is true but the new console will still be an unknown factor.

So Crackdown was able to do it from magic? And Battlefield 4? Intriguing. Must have been imagining those games.

Umm I played that mode…it’s not a good example of fully destructible environment in a multiplayer since it wasn’t overly detailed like the campaign, the PVP was awful and it wasn’t like a lot of other games that have this kind of feature like Battlefield. It worked well in older Battlefield games because the destruction made sense with the game-play. I also remember when Microsoft tried to claim the ‘wrecking zone’ was done by ‘the cloud’…but it was average, didn’t do as much as the game had claimed to do. Plus with it releasing on X1, XSX at the same time…I doubt they would use it due to performance issues with the X1.

Thats the point

oh alright

Yea I’d defintely like to see that. Whether that’s in the campaign or MP, it would be a nice addition to break stuff. I think we all got that side of us that likes to go around and wreck stuff.

Destructible environments can be a good idea. We have already seen dynamic maps in Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer which utilized emp’s, stalactites, and waterfalls to change maps.
