I have seen a lot of discussion with destiny in people’s comments. So I was just curious what everyone else was thinking about destiny compared to Halo 5. I personally do not like destiny because it was like a beta, and they didn’t deliver even half of what they were promising. There multiplayer was not balanced in the slightest. 343i is doing a good job at trying to get their name out there and in control of the Halo universe. But as I said these are just opinions and I was curious what other peoples opinions were.
Halo is better. Every game except Halo 4, I liked better than Destiny.
Destiny still is a beta imo
Why does everyone always feel the need to compare Destiny to every game?
this is a halo forum, keep it halo please. it doesn’t matter what game someone thinks is better, just play what you enjoy.
I agree about Bungie’s and Activision’s dlc plan. It was downright horrible with a good number of people thinking that the second dlc was straight up a rip off. I like Destiny for the PvE and that it. The PvP is beyond horrible for me. I like Halo’s multiplayer so much more then Destiny’s. The campaign is decent enough, certainly not bad. The lore for both games are pretty cool.
-Campaigns are similar, repeating bosses, extended campaign based on ghosts/Intel. Drop in/drop out co-op. Cutscenes are both okay.
-multiplayers are vastly different. Balance starts vs unbalanced starts.
-dlc: pay to progress vs pay to skip.
All my friends and I spent a year playing Destiny, and only one guy still does so. So far as I’m concerned, Destiny 1 is over. I’ll revisit it once the full sequel comes out.
Currently, my Spartan Company/clan group is going to switch to The Division for our go-to PvE co-op game. (Halo is still on top for PvP of course)
For $60 with H5 I’ve gotten a mediocre campaign, incredibly balanced multiplayer with generally stable connections, and 4 free updates so far that have added new maps and game modes.
For $140 with Destiny I’ve gotten a game with a less than mediocre story, incredibly poor weapon balancing, completely random weapon and armor rewards with no guarantee that I will ever receive the exotic I want, and a bunch of maps that I had to pay for.
Destiny’s pvp at launch was incredibly bare bones in my opinion. It had control, similar to strongholds, TDM, FFA, and one or two semi-objective game modes like salvage. I**t took a year for bungie to add a CTF-like game mode to Destiny. And even so, it is possible, but not probable, to win their version of CTF by just getting more kills than the other team and completely ignoring the flag.
Destiny still has no dedicated servers, no private matches, no BTB, no forge, no theater. I much prefer H5’s multiplayer to Destiny’s.

To every Halo game? Because the company that made Halo CE through Halo Reach made Destiny.
And Destiny is way more fun than H5.

Yet here you are. Destiny is fun in small doses, but crucible is still very much broken and hard to enjoy.

My presence here is a testament to CE, H2, H3, Reach, and H4. H5 is garbage.
Halo 5
-Balanced weapon starts.
-Weapons are balanced in area.
-Dedicated servers.
-Balanced spartan abilities.
-Map control is a key tactic instead of the game just devolving into a giant cluster -Yoink-.
-Vehicles that are balanced and team oriented vehicles that require more than one person.
-Free monthly updates.
Destiny
-unbalanced weapon starts.
-Very little weapon balancing. Some weapons are completely useless in PvP while others are god tier.
-P2P connections.
-unbalanced class abilities.
-Too many one hit kill weapons and abilities are on the map at one time.
-Little to no map control. The multiplayer revolves mostly around camping corridors for easy kills.
-No team oriented vehicles in multiplayer. There is only a single seat hover tank.
-Paid DLC.

Cool, MCC forums are that way ->

The one thing I can’t stand about games like Destiny, you need to use the exact same gun as everyone else (like the Last Word) or you’re bound to lose. It makes me appreciate Halo’s equal starts more.
Halo 5, regardless of what 343 has (and hasn’t done), for one reason I can’t forgive.
Charging 20 dollars for small amounts of DLC, than another for 20 dollars, and then the Taken King for a whopping 40 dollars.
Then they have the nerve to charge $60 for new players even though launch players (Yes, I did ride that wave and I never bothered to finish it) have to pay around $140 for the same experience.
Anyone who abides by such business practices are mindless sheep. I wouldn’t be nearly as full of NaCl if it didn’t cost as much. And to date, I only ever bought one of those DLC packs.

By that time, Bungie was a hollow shell of what it was before.
Now that Staten and O’Donnel are out? It has fallen into the same fate as Rareware. They’re barely recognizable. I’d hardly ever associate them with the masterpieces they made before (Destiny is not one of them)

Agreed, and not to mention people are usually comparing Apples to Oranges.
Obviously I’m going to go with Halo 5. Halo 5 has an amazing, balanced, and fun multiplayer. An okay campaign, but I really am happy they invested more time and effort into putting out an amazing long term Multiplayer than (I speak for most of us) a one time play of Campaign. Whereas in Destiny, you need to grind out and invest hours and hours in the story and actually have 5 countable teammates to do raids. Before any Destiny fan bashes me, I did have a full “Raid Team” and completed Hard Oryx but most of the DLC’s in Destiny, you’re paying $20 for like a week’s worth of gameplay and two new weapons, or $50 for a new raid and 5 new weapons. To me Destiny was more of a job than a game to enjoy because of the necessity of needing the great weapons in order to even do something. In Halo 5, Warzone is by far my favorite Big Team mode (to an extent), and Arena is an actually balanced Multiplayer. Custom Games and Forge shouldn’t even be an argument, by far the best implements any shooter could have.
Yep, but its ok some people enjoy what they do. H5 will be my last Halo game and i will migrate to other franchises. Doom is just around the corner and it seems like a better Arena experience.
Put 700+ hours into Destiny. Enjoyed it, but got to repetitive. Multiplayer was buggy as hell. Started to play Halo5, has bugs but it’s pretty cool.
Overall enjoyed Destiny but it wore me out. Lets see how long halo takes to do that. My first impressions are it needs more maps in the rotations.
