Another one of ‘your ideas ideas here threads’ (forget the title) and this time its on weapon skins

Now many games are starting to support this very nice player customisation feature in games such as GOW3 (the best one so far)

Halo 4 had some bice skins but for whatever reason there wasnt that many and they didnt stand out much (to how much they should stand out they shouldnt be glowing neon pink shouting ‘here I am shoot me’) and this was a little disappointing. But withnthe new xbox one tech this shouldnt be a problem.

So Ive set up this thread for you to creat your own weapon skins. Preferably for all weapons (since having a skin on the AR that you cant get on the BR can be annoying) unless its weapon specific unlocks or is unique to that weapon for what ever reason like a red coloured plasma rifle used by brutes.

Simply post a description of the skin (pattern, colour etc.) how to unlock it possibly (achievement, medal, commendation, kills, victories etc.) and the weapon skin could have a ‘MINOR’ annimation.

To start of I propose having the onyx skin from GOW3 implemented since it looked very sleek and generally nice.

PS Im suggesting that you can select the colour of your lightrifle shots so you can happy ray them to death.

I think that weapon skins should function like COD’s Personalization packs. I would like them to be available to ALL weapons, regardless of what class they fall under.

Variants of Flames, Tribal designs, Geometric designs, Camo variants (both classic and digital alike).

However I think we could have a personal customization instead, where we could use an editor with all sorts of shapes and designs to create our very own weapon skins. Of course, 343i would have to go through and filter out stuff like profanity, racism, and -Yoink!-, but we get the ability to truly personalize our weaponry.

Why not a weapon skin for the mounted Machine gun?

it applies as soon as you get on it, and disappears if you get off.

i’m thinking of something similar to the AR’s Teeth skin, except the eyes are painted on the Gun’s shield, and the mouth opens around the barrel to give a “dragon’s mouth” type of impression
