Welcome back, sorta*. Now you are tasked with building a new successor to the M12 Warthogs.
Here will be the design specifications.
Must be able to mount the same weapon systems that of the M12 Warthog, E.g M41 LAAG, M80 MLRS, M68 ALIM, M343a2 Machine Gun, ect.
Have a crew capacity of at least 3-2.
Must be air-transportable Via D77 or D79 Pelican
Weight roughly 3 metric tons at most, and maintain maximum speed that of M12 Warthog
Maintain baseline armor levels that of M12 Warthog.
That is all, go… hogwild.

The Warthog would benefit from a domed energy shield covering the driver, making him less vulnerable to snipers and explosions.
I don’t think I can! Halo 4’s warthogs were some if the best I’ve seen!
So long as the driver says, “Meep meep outta my way”
Personally I liked the design of the Halo 3 Warthogs.
In relation to the Warthog the only thing I would do is extend the chassis so that in its FAV configuration it would hold two more passengers between the front two and the gunner. In its transport variant it would mean it could carry x6 troops in the transport bay.
Weapon wise inclusion of a LMG for use by the the front passenger similar to the real world UK armed forces Jackel would be included to boost firepower. The LMG would mainly but not exclusively be used to compliment FAV Hogs that are configured either with the Gauss cannon, MLRS turrent or Naplam launcher or serve as primary weapon on a transport hog stationed at the front of the troop bay. A 3 burst Grenade launcher could also be fitted in place of the LMG firing HEAP rounds.
Also like the real world FAV the Jackal, the Hog would be relatively more up armoured as is seen in the linked picture. This would also mean it’s 12L engine would be replaced with a 16L twin turbo charged one to accommodate for the increase in weight while not losing speed potential 90 mph max. I would fit the V shaped hull so to deflect mine and IED strikes, roll bars fitted to make it more stable when taking sharp turns, steering directed headlights, a HUD for the driver (doesn’t replace the dashboard) and other small improvements.
Honestly the current variation is almost perfect for what it does. However. I would emphasis replacing most of the armor with Forerunner or Covenant alloys, or as close to them as we can make, to ensure the surviviability of the vehicle. Epseically around the engine and the ammunition rack for the turret.
I’d also suggest giving the side seat a mounted weapon, perhaps a variation of the Hydra, something that is a lot easier to aim while bouncing around through foliage and rough terrain than the weapon of the passanger.
