It’s a very hard topic because there are so many different armor pieces. I do currently have default until I find the right piece to use.

I would like Achilles to match more armours, either remove the metallic look or add more variants without it (for people who have already unlocked it, definitely not for everyone like helioskrill)

Like when you get the helmet you also unlock.

I don’y know. I haven’t looked into the armors in game.
I’d love to get the Mark V GEN 1 without paints. I know there’s one variant that doesn’t have them, but the helmet has a dark stripe down the middle that reacts badly with paint, so if for example it were yellow, it would be painted brown.
I’d also really like the Hunter armour without paints, for the same reason. That weird, squiggly pattern over the chestpiece goes brown with yellow paint, and it just looks really strange.
Actually, I feel like having Tertiary paint schemes will also aid in armour customization. The ability to mix and match armour pieces, ala Halo Reach would also be nice. Even if it came down to simply changing shoulder pads, or removing them.
Helljumper and any legendary MK. VI variant desperately need the option of having a cleaner look.
i think every variant, and put them in custom paint mode, no need to put out there 50 armors that looks exactly the same, naming them the same and putting 2 lines of different colors doesnt make me want them.

Every armor should have started with a clean version.
Than…Painted ones.
Just look at recon.
Basic has black lines all over chest.
One has alot of yellow.
One has white and cyan.
One has cyan and yellow.
The black doesn’t look natural compared to undersuit, on basic recon.
EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING NEEDS TO HAVE THE WHITE PAINT REMOVED.
Or just replace the white with a tertiary color option. Either works for me.

Helljumper needs a reskin, I love the Armor but its completly smudged with White Decals, It doesn’t look nice at all, if it was plain with Primary & Secondary colors, I’d totally rock it.

I tried to wear it.
I wish I could get over how smothered it is, with white paint…
Yeah it was a poor Decision on 343’s part to smudge some armour with white, cyan and the darker colours. Having plain armour and being able to colour it to you liking is how it should be and having these weird colours makes me not want to wear them

If they used theese colors right it wouldn’t be a problem.
What they do:
Plaster white everywhere.
.
Should do:
Accent lines over edges and points of armor.
Keep it minimal in size.
Or patterns that actually look good and not ‘random’ markings.
By the way, The HellJumper has a clapperboard on it, is that a reference to Nathan Fillion or something?
Either way, it’s cool that they’ve done that, but I’d really appreciate some armours which also have a basic variation. I never noticed the Recon has Black on it, but actually it doesn’t look too bad now that I see it. It makes it look a bit darker and more technical than some other armours, but it’s a good look. Still, it’d be interesting to see what it looks like without it. Speaking of, how do you guys feel about the Undersuits? I feel it’d be nice to get the option to colour them ourselves. Black would be great, but what if you feel like Red, or Blue? What if you want White armour over the top of that? I know that would probably look horrible, but it would be YOUR horribly painted set of armour. I love that they added hundreds of armours, but it’d be so much cooler if we could have more paint control.
What armors should have no white/blue/cyan/dark lines on their base paint schemes?

You just answered it yourself…
Every variant! I can not definitively say X armor should be the one because there are so many that are just awful. So awful in fact that 99% of the armors I wouldn’t even think of using.
Each armor set should have come in three variations. The base armor (common, uncommon, rare) primary color = armor color, secondary color = under armor color. Intermediate (rare, ultra rare) armor Should have a design in the armor but have it controlled by the secondary armor color. The highest (ultra rare or legendary) would have the primary color as the main armor color, secondary would be a different design than the intermediate armor changed by the secondary color in addition to a third layer you can not change.
I would have also like to have seen a toggle button to be able to turn on/off any layers you can not change the color on.
I also must say I also dislike armors that change the tint of colors, for example Mark VI Gen1 The secondary color on most of the armor changes from what you select to what shows on the armor. if you pick yellow it is brown on the armor. If I wanted brown I would have picked brown!
