Hey everyone! I’ve recently finished recreating two custom maps/gametypes that were very popular in Halo: Reach. ‘Derby’ is a King of the hill varient that features all-out Warthog mayhem for 8 players. (Unfortunately not the same number of people availiable for the Reach version due to the limit of Hogs) It is played on a semi-flat ‘floating’ stage with 4 mine pits and kill zones below and above the spawn areas to encourage players to get on the hill as soon as possible! Scoring is achieved by controlling the hill for only 2 seconds, a factor that can only be met if you are the only player on it
Once players have been killed, they will respawn in a ‘jail’ with the ability to chuck plasmas at the remaining Hogs, however, no damage will be dealt; only the force of physics will be applied! Lots of fun and I hope you all try it!
‘Avalanche’ is the insane mountain-climbing-vehicle-dodging-explosive-hurdling experiance recreated from the Reach DK gametype. The ‘mountain’ is found in the pit of Erosion, and is no wee bunny hill to be mounted by amatuers. All players start with a Sticky Detonator to try and force incoming objects either out of your way, or fatally in the way of opponents! The gametype used is Extraction. Simply climb to the top and arm the objective. Arming takes 7 seconds and the objective is located in a 10 second kill zone intentionally placed in order to force players to start at the bottom in order to score again for their team. (Camping is not advised on this hill anyway!) Rocket launchers can also be found on the hill… to deal with… rabbits… yeah, rabbits. Lots of fun with many friends, but be warned, the game with have some framrate studders due to the excessive amounts of crap flying at you.
