Deployable Teleporter

A teleporter entrance and exit that the player can place. Destroying either node will destroy both. Exiting the teleporter makes a loud noise.

It’s a nice idea but I can imagine people exploiting it.

e.g

  • Exit running off a cliff (Teamkilling)
  • Exit outside the map
  • Numerous glitches

Sounds cool but I want to add one thing to it:
When reloaded, you should also get some squirrels and/or teddy bears :smiley:

I usually just look at threads in this forum but this one got my interest. I love the idea. Being able to put an entrance and exit teleporter to help move people, especially on big team battle, would be freaking sweet.

Of course people will do stupid things with it but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t be thought about. People do stupid things b.c. they enjoy annoying other people. It’s online gaming and the community isn’t exactly mature. But honestly the teleporter idea sounds really fun and could actually add a level of teamwork, say whaaaat?, yeah teamwork to Halo. I like it.

Are you…

I see it as something for invasion, where you can spawn far away from objectives.

That would be really cool. It would be the bane of campers everywhere!

That game is… AWESOME haha

I would design it so that you can see what the exit looks like before you use it.

A capture the flag match would end very quickly.

To balance it, only the player with the ability can use it.

I think it’d be nice for a few playlists, forge, spartan ops and custom games but some playlists, specifically objective based gametypes, would be unbalanced.

Sounds a bit like Portal… I like that. :slight_smile:

the betrayal part could be really funny. “alright lets go!” -goes through the tele and walks straight off a cliff- TROLLFACE

Yeah, like in BF3 on Noshahra Canals where you spawn and jump into the water when you sprint, except in this case over a cliff if you sprint through. Have an arrow indicate which side you’ll enter/exit from and be able to redeploy them/correct their positions.

You could say the same thing about a CTF map with a Warthog.

One solution would be to disallow teleporter travel while carrying an objective.

Another would be to not place these items in CTF gametypes.

Another option would be to prevent the enemy from setting it up at all by controlling the map pick up or destroying it once it is setup.

It’s a bad idea.

Like Team Fortress 2? Sounds pretty cool to be honest, and I consider myself a competitive player.

If it was to happen though, I think they should limit how many people on a team can have it at any giving moment, also something that TF2 features, you basically can’t have over a certain amount of each class.
