I feel that if you want to use deployable shields when you find yourself in a situation where you are being outmatched by two or more players and you need to defend yourself; they take a long time to deploy and they rarely work the way you want them to. Every time I needed to use them it ended in my death. So I didn’t bother using them anymore. Every time I saw someone use them, I just threw them randomly and they were useless. Not even the Bots used them.
Try using them preemptively like when you run around a corner throw one out just before. They also seemed to work decently for me by throwing it out and strafing behind cover while trying to take shots and waiting for the cover to come up. I think it’s better that way rather than an instant shield, that way it leaves counter play on both ends using the shield.
I’d say either buff the protection or reduce deploy time.
Yeah, it seems they don’t want them to be “get-out-death-free” cards you can deploy instantly.
That said, either a slight boost to deployment speed or an ever-so-slightly increase to the damage they can soak would be nice. It does feel like they’re a split second distraction from a firefight as opposed to a tactical tool…but maybe that was the feel they’re going for.
I felt the same about them. They’re slow to deploy and useless when already in a firefight. Much different than the bubble shields. But I feel that’s intentional. I kinda figure they’re better for preemptive planning, like if you wanna camp and have some cover from a different angle. Ultimately I didn’t use them either. Just dropped them then moved on. Although there was a couple times during trade offs I was able to make use of randomly dropped ones xD
Yeah I don’t know how to feel about it., I mean I did do one sweet play with it but carrying three and you can destroy a panel with two shots of the pistol not to mention its slow deploy. What made the bubble shield great it could backfire on you. With this it just feels like a free cheap free shots. It’d be nice to see the bubble shield in big team. And I really don’t like the look of it. Because when I think of a shield I’m thinking of the shimmer and effect like from reach or Halo 3. I don’t know if you notice it had the same effect of shielding on the covenant turret in the trailer.

The deployable shield isn’t really supposed to be a get-out-of-jail-free card, its supposed to help you fortify a certain passageway while being able to return fire. In other words, its not supposed to be used to save you from certain death. Its supposed to be used to help you either (A) secure an objective, (B) lock down a passageway, or (C) cover your back while returning fire in a different direction.
A little quicker deploy time would be better.
I think they can shave off 25% percent of the current time placing them and they would be perfect.
I agree, it deploys way to slow for being this weak.
either reduce the deploy time or buff the strength.
I didn’t use them once in combat and ended up like you just throwing them randomly to get rid of them
