I finally finished my first Forge Island map. Demolition Depot: The Post-Apocalyptic Hardware MegaStore. A medium map set up for Slayer, CTF, KotH, and Oddball. 2-12 players.
Overview
Parking Lot
Central Shopping Aisles
Checkout - Red Base
Kiosk of Doom - Blue Base
Back Room Storage
I appreciate your questions, comments, and criticisms.
Interesting concept, but the lack of colour and actual shelves kinda kills it.
Recommendations:
Shelves, make shelves. It’s not as difficult as you’d think, and then you could put weapons and grenades on the shelves.
Objects: Those dominion objects stick out like sore thumbs, I’d suggest trying to put lights by them to make them more natural.
Colour: Seeing as how its a hardware store, give it an orange colour on the blocks. I think it would really help the map out.
I also recommend posting this on Forge Hub, you’ll get a lot more feedback there.
O.O That looks interesting, yet it does lack colors. I want to try it out.
Thanks for the feedback.
I really like the idea of adding some orange color to the map. I will have to check into that as soon as I get the chance. I also might be able to rig up some shelving using sideways Dominion stripes.
If the msp looks dark, it’s probably from all the Fallout 3 I’ve been playing lately. I know I wanted the Blue side to feel like a darkened warehouse to contrast with the openness of Red side’s wreckage. I purposefully left the ceiling off of the back room area abecause it was just too dark.
I tried out some shelving and came up with a good setup, but it cost too much and I ran out of budget halfway through.
The orange lines works well as long as I use them in limited quantities.
