Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this problem, but when I play the Delta Halo mission, the game freezes after the sniping jackal section. It occurs, each time, when I go through the ravine with the sniping jackals and am about to come out to the open area facing the lake and the temple. The freeze forces me to hard reset my xbox one. This has happened about 4 times now, and it doesn’t save my last checkpoint, but I have to restart the mission in its entirety, which is annoying since it’s a long mission just to get to that point. Anyone else having this issue? And if so, any ideas on how to resolve it?
I have beaten the level without having this issue, but I stuck to the left side of the level and killed most of the jackals stealthily, if I am remembering the correct section, so perhaps try that? If that doesn’t work, then you may have to do something like reboot your Xbox or reinstall the MCC. Hope this helps!
Yup, I am having the same issue. By any chance have you been able to fix the issue? It sucks because I am doing my solo run on legendary. I have had it 2 times now and have to restart the “Delta Halo” level again because for some reason the Master Chief Collection thinks the last time I saved the game was the beginning of the “Arbiter” mission. Could it be possible this is just an issue with Legendary difficulty?
Not just with legendary. I’ve been going through the Master Chief Saga playlist on normal and the same thing happens to me.
I know 343 is busy fixing the multiplayer portion of the game but single player is important too.
This has happened to me twice. What sucks is I know it is the end of the mission. I just want to complete it, get my achievement and move on. I wish it at least saved the progress of where you were at.
Ok, so I made it through the level on legendary without it freezing on me. This is what I did.
When I got to the “Nothing but Jackal part” I saved and quit, as I got closer to the part where it keeps freezing on me I kept saving and quitting at a checkpoint. Then when I was leaving the Jackal area, I slowly walked through stopped walking at the “Loading … Done” section, and then kept slowly moving along until I reached the next part, then it was fine.
I have no idea how this was caused, but I would rather be safe then sorry. I know this is probably not the ideal thing to do. But what can I say, “Desperate times call for desperate measures”.
The reason why I kept saving and quitting, near that area is because I did not want to go through the whole level on Legendary again.

same here, on the part where you have to put the bridge back down every time i look down the hole it freezes, i thought it was a one time thing until it happened again in the same spot while going back on legendary.
Halo 2 A freezes at the first part of the Gondola section on Delta halo for me, right after clearing the adjacent passing gondola of enemies. Happened three times and randomly reset my xbox on the third…and drops me right back to the jackal sniper section of the level. I’ve lost all my enthusiasm with this collection now to be honest. Very frustrating. From what I’m hearing about the othe campaigns I’m just not gonna bother trying the other three till there’s a solid patch. Such a joke.
Delta Halo freezes for my friend and I all the time around the “Nothing but Jackal” section of the mission. The furthest we got was when you first encounter the Prophet of Regret and his Honour Guards. Freezes on both accounts of the mission. I don’t understand what could possibly causing the bug. 343i get your -Yoink- together, this is so poorly designed.
I am having the same problem with my fiancee. We play split screen on legendary and every time we get to the ravine it freezes and forces the MCC to reboot. Because we are playing co-operative we can’t restart or exit … does anyone have any ideas what we can do ? this is 4 times in a row now this has happened and we don’t have a tonne of free time so it feels like a waste.
Ive been playing through the halos sequentially with my friend in couch co-op and it’s been freezing randomly throughout the level. Once after we get to the stone pond with the tank, once after getting into the area where you have to ditch the vehicles to go inside, and again right as we got to the sniper jackal location. Very odd. very annoying… and since the last one of ya’ll posted in 2015 I guess they never fixed the problem or aren’t aware of it.

I have experienced this bug as well, though the few times it’s affected me, I’ve just reloaded the level and was able to continue on to the end without a problem. It always loaded my last checkpoint, so I never lost any serious progress because of it.
I’ve never had it freeze on me when using speedrun tactics (such as getting out of the map with a ghost, loading that section, then heading to the end, skipping the section). So if for some reason you really can’t get through the level because of this glitch, you could do this to potentially avoid it (and getting out of the map is fairly simple in this level).

Yeah I’ve done in solo on normal but on cop there is no checkpoint it’s just mission by mission , can’t even get to the ghost part when you’ve done the first.location and move to the 4 sniper jackals it freezes every single time . It bull crap done h 1 and 3 this is halfway through 2 and I physically can’t get past it

Hmm…just to clarify, you’re talking about the jackal snipers at the beginning of the mission (after you get the warthog at the beginning)? The part the OP is talking about is at the end of the mission, after you get through the jungle part with the waterfall and the jackal snipers. I’ve never had it freeze at the beginning part. You’re right about co-op though, if it freezes there’s nothing you can do, it’s back to the beginning of the mission unfortunately.
Just save and exit at each checkpoint this works for solo and co-op. Me and my friend started playing and we only had to clear that last room. When I freeze my Xbox shuts off. I don’t want my thing broke so skip it.
The Game froze twice today when I got to the ravine bridge area. 1st time it crashed the xbox (the xbox shut off but the controllers were still on). 2nd time it just kicked me out of the game. I’ve played all the campaigns several times through and never had any problems before this big update. I do like the background and user interface changes.

So I was going to start a new topic for this until I looked it up and found this thread talking about the exact same issue. I know it’s an old thread, but I just had this same glitch happen to me again (has happened many times before). Each time it happens, I have to restart my Xbox. Given that this has been an issue for so long, do the folks at 343 have this on their radar still? And are they planning to fix it, or is it just something that can’t be fixed?
