So many people pass this by without thinking about it. The meddlers were never on Alpha halo right? They were introduced on Delta halo in cold storage. So what are these creatures? If they weren’t on alpha halo that eliminates most of any chance that the big Alpha Combat Flood are a natural flood. What if the Meddlers got infected and that is their infection form. However, in Cold Storage, you could see these same creatures. What if the Forerunners captured an infected individual? Let’s call them Sarkiah for the sake of not mixing those who meddled with the teleporters, and those who were purely innocent(ish). So imagine a Sarkiah is in the quarantine zone, they get infected, the Forerunners want to test on these individuals, so they lock them up in cold storage, then get pinned down, forced to fire the rings, the only plan that never happened was finding a cure. And THAT is what I believe is the backstory to the “Meddlers”. They just invaded the facility because say a great leader or whatever was in Cold Storage. No prior knowledge was given to them that the flood infected their leader or even existed at all. Now how or why the Halos didn’t kill them? The only explanation is that they reside in another galaxy. In all honesty this would probably sound better coming from a YouTube video. Maybe HiddenXperia could do a segment on this (if he hasn’t already)
Im pretty sure that it was the gravemind or some sort of off spring from the gravemind.
I remember reading lore on the maps and missions and the link between them said gravemind but i could totally be wrong.
That couldn’t be right because the forerunners captured one asnd tested on it. The gravemind formed AFTER they fired the rings. The Meddlers showed up and opened Cold Storage, they got out, who knows maybe the flood killed all the Meddlers. OMG, imagine getting confirmation of this because 343 puts them in Halo Infinite. The Meddlers ARE the most known creature in the lore, but least talked about.
