Yep. Enjoy!

since i don’t have time to read it right now i hope the monitors sticky this thread.

I’ll do my best to make sure it doesn’t vanish in the meantime. I hope you enjoy!

don’t worry ill bump it for you if it starts falling until a mod can get some sort of place where you can read this without struggling to find it.

Thanks! Also, don’t be afraid to leave a review/comment. I want to know what people think!

once i get the time i need to read it ill put up a review,

how many pages is it? i saw it had around 20 chapters

Pages? I have… no idea. It’s around 99k words. 18 chapters, 20 counting Prologue and Epilogue. It’s the start of a series. Book 2 is close to being finished.

You probably shouldn’t bump… it’s against the rules.

BUT MOM… >:)

cool going to read it soon.
how long did it take u btw?

Wrote this in about five months. Wasn’t exactly writing full time—also it’s been finished for over a year now, I just didn’t know these forums existed so I didn’t post it here. Thanks so much for reading!

I’ll be honest, I’ve only skimmed the first page, but this seems very… well, good.
Like, good-good.

And I don’t mean a sympathetic “Good for you,”
but genuinely as-good-as-Eric-Nylund good.

Have you taken it to a publisher? Or, at least try getting in touch with 343i to see if it can be counted as canon.

I’m sure I’ll get around to reading it fully once I’ve finished the Halo novel I’m reading now.

Dont bring the Stranger into this! Bungie is going down harder than 343 is…

bump

Bump after read. Didn’t get through the whole thing (to balls deep in gaming) but I really like your writing style. The images come to life nicely and the pacing, while quick and throwing a lot of images at you, still does a nice job at blending the imagery together without it getting lost and caught up with other imagery. I also like how heavily you lean towards the side if scenery rather than the side of throwing numbers out for scale and grandeur like other writers do. Keep it up!

Thanks so much! I tried to get a publisher (the publisher of the last series by Karen Travis) to look at it, but got no reply. I’m a nobody, yaknow? Can’t for the life of me figure out how to get to get 343’s attention. So… Thanks for the vote of confidence.

But essentially, unless you already know someone inside, it seems like there’s a snowball’s chance in hell of getting contribute in a big (and paid) way.

Gonna keep writing though. Let me know when you get through Book 1, Book 2 is coming along.

Will do. Best of luck!

Just noting here that I changed the title of the post. It was noted to me by another helpful user that in my joking about what I wrote, people who might have been interested may not have been able to tell that they should click.

Thanks for that.

I guess it’s hard to take myself seriously as a writer. If I were any good, I’d be published right?

Things happen for a reason m8. Good writing.
