Make it a way to delete your posts. I’ve had times when I wanted to delete a post after I found out the post was incorrect. Its not needed, but its wanted. I haven’t seen anyone else talking about it, but it would be a helpful feature to have on the forums.

No, because people would break rules left and right, and then just delete the posts.

It wouldn’t be too hard for these posts to be ‘hidden’ when deleted by users (rather than all records of them being completely lost), so that they no longer appear and people can’t see them but any reports of violations could still be looked into by mods.
Personally I just edit my posts when I get something wrong or post in the wrong place.
If you want your posts removed, just report it and request a moderator to remove it.
Edit it to say REDACTED or something as well if you’ve made a mistake.

Both good ideas.
We’re happy to delete accidental double posts, double threads, and the like. Just use the report button to let us know.

I’m aware of the time frame, and this is still relevant. The missing delete option is yet another pointless babysitting feature that isn’t present on most sites. The closest thing I have seen is auto locking a post after a certain number of days. This allows full access to the post until that point but I believe even then they allowed you to delete it.
If a post is unnecessary and we notice it after posting, we should be able to delete it. Being able to delete the entire post content but not the post is a little nit picky.
