Delay on midair melees needs a fix please

Melee combat is very frustrating when you know if you attempt a jump or jump + thrust melee that you will 9 times out of 10 lose due to the fact that there is about a half-second delay on it. Test it for yourself it you haven’t noticed. Surely it can be too hard for the game to differentiate an attempt at a ground pound from a melee that it would need such a delay, right? Please fix this, 343.

Yeah, I agree this could do with a fix; I’ve died several times because the melee wouldn’t work.

Jump melee in halo 5 is so broken, ground pound and melee don’t work together. Too many mechanics for one button to handle, melee, spartan charge, assassination, and ground pound. Up on the D-pad is where ground pound needs to be. Sprint might be a good option also, but it would be harder to maintain speed with the way the sprint mechanic works while you are in the air. Ground pound on the D-pad wouldn’t be that hard and can easily be remapped. Why even have air assassinations if all your spartan wants to do is ground pound?

100% agree, i have hated that delay since day 1 beta. absolutely terrible. I understand that it is because of groundpound, but damn, it messes people up so hard, often times resulting in death.

Yeah, or just give us the option to disable ground pound. I don’t use it & it always screws up my air assassinations or when an enemy is trying to bunny hop their way out of a close range fight & I start jumping at them to slap their dumb tactic off their face. But wait? Why am I hovering in the air? Oh, thanks ground pound…
