Delay infinite

It’s clear that if they had something significantly better they would have displayed it. Big embarrassment for Microsoft. They dodged questions about forge, theatre, and a lot of other missing content at launch questions already. Everyone knows that it’s going to come out incomplete buggy or something terrible. We have no faith in 343. Please just delay it another 5-6 months and give us a game we can be proud to recommend to our friends without getting laughed at.

I think the game is looking good but if it must be done then so be it. I’m all for this game being the absolute best it can be.

Bruh, it´s a open world where you will run over a complete Halo ring. Also, this is a new graphic engine: slipspace engine, and the graphics are the last things at developing a game. Use gears of war 4 as an example, horrible graphic demo but great final product.
Let´s remember that the demo they showed us is a beta running on pc, of course there are more developed versions of the game.

With the game already taking 2 years longer than a usual Halo development cycle and it being declared a launch title for the Series X on stage by Phil Spencer during E3, I am very doubtful that they would make the decision to delay it because of the potential hit to PR and day one Series X launch sales. They are really pushing Infinite to be their killer app, and it just doesn’t seem like a possibility to me this late in the game, but I suppose stranger things have happened.

There is absolutely NO REASON to delay it. The only thing halo infinite is lacking at all is great graphics textures which can literally be fixed in less than a month. Besides if they delay Halo infinite the series X has literally no hope at all. I would be more than happy to play halo infinite even if it looks exactly the same as in the demo.

All this would be solved if simply 343 showed more information about the game.

500 million

Lot’s of development time left OP. Just give it some more time. We’ll see how the multiplayer demo looks.

Delays are pointless now. They probably value having Halo as a launch title for the XB1X more than releasing a finished product, even assuming Halo Infinite is ever intended to be a “finished product”.

The reality is whatever dev work they do in the months they would delay release will just be done and patched in while the game is out.

heheh +1

So quick to judge.
They said they want to keep things secret.
Plus, you try making a triple-A game from home during a pandemic.

Doesn’t necessarily confirm that content is going to be cut from the game. We’ll just have to wait and see. A lot of content will probably be cut on day one, which sucks. That’s just the trend that video games are heading towards and I hate it. I should be able to do everything on day one, not 6 months to a year from now. Like we’re giving them a loan to invest in the development of the video game. And knowing 343, they like to play the long game. Hook you in with the hype, give you a bare bones game (Guardians), and then give you the other half of the game later. I think MCC has just about achieved greatness, but it look nearly 6 years. And I get that they were developing Guardians, then Infinite, releasing the games on PC (which is awesome), and the game was a monumental effort, that’s still a long time coming.

Sure a delay would help with any last minute “touch ups” for 343 (or any dev team during the rona) but with Infinite classified as “launch title” for the Series X. I’m confident that it’s not gonna happen. They have a decent amount of time left before launch though.

  1. They’ve already said it’s not true open world or a full ring.
  2. It’s THEIR engine and they’ve had 5 YEARS with it.
  3. If they had a better build… why didn’t they show it?

If Microsoft was smart they would bring in an entire secondary studio to crunch for 3 months in order to help get this game polished up and ready to ship something acceptable. The state of that demo is completely unacceptable. It’s perfectly clear that once again 343 just isnt capable of doing it on their own.

If this game ships in the state that was shown in the demo, it’s going to get massacred by the community.

I believe I either read or saw an interview where they stated that the original goal was a full ring but they had to scale back to a handful of islands. I imagine this means it will be similar to the way Borderlands does things. If that’s the case they really need to make an official announcement because it seems like people are expecting a full ring now for some reason.

That’s a huge part of Infinites problem, they’re roughly 4 months out from launch and we still don’t really know what this game is or how it works. That’s usually indicative that they’re afraid to tell people, the same reason they were radio silent for 5 years: Halo Infinite looks like a mega blocks game.

This pandemic has affected maybe 6 months of the past 4+ years of development, lmfao. what a -Yoinking!- joke.

Give me 500 million, the resources of Microsoft, and a couple of hundred experienced employees- I’ll have it done, no problem.

may be they used those for making the gameplay perfect. What is a game with great graphics but horrible gameplay?
The time will say…nothing is for sure, and no one has the truth until infinite releases later this year.
