Everyone knows that Halo 4 was rushed, like most of the Halo games tragically, by the demand of Microsoft and the big wigs in charge. Rushing robs the players of content and a more revolutionary and refined game, and creates problems within the game. Now look what we got…
Why don’t we leave 343 industries alone for a while, and allow them to perfect Halo 5, take as much time necessary. Refine the game, scrap ideas over and over, do a Beta! Whether it takes 3, 5, or more years, I want a near perfect Halo sequel, now what does the community think?
Isn’t it a little too early to be foaming from the mouth for a delay? We haven’t seen gameplay. And you don’t know where it is at currently in development.

longer dev. time doesn’t necessarily mean a better game, besides, they still have almost a year left.
also this.

I don’t think this franchise, and more importantly the Xbox One, is going to survive if it doesn’t release by 2014.
However, I think that Halo 4 should have been developed as a launch title for Xbox One. It would have been significantly more polished, and despite that the horrid gameplay elements incorporated in Halo 4 would have most likely still remained, it would have been much more expansive, and so much that 343i originally intended would have had the time to be incorporated in what I believe was an unfinished game.
Halo’s in a very rough spot now, and it’s why I don’t particularly see very much potential in Halo 5, unfortunately.
I dont want Halo 5 to become another Halflife 3 situation. The game can be perfect yet disappointing at the same time because the longer we wait the more we expect, I dont mind waiting 3 years but because Halo 4 wasnt exactly a true Halo game, it would make waiting hurt even more because we want a new game, even tho I do like some of the ideas they put in 4 and if they can have only 1 playlist for the 4 fans while keeping traditional Halo alive, a 2 year cycle should be perfect.

As far as Halo goes, I somewhat agree. As far as the Xbox One? DISAGREED

Halo has always been the major title in Xbox’s success. Halo: CE sold the original Xbox, and can be attributed to it’s success in the console gaming arena. Halo 2 continued this on the original Xbox. Halo 3 was a huge player in Xbox 360’s fate, and I’ll get to that in a second.
Halo was not only an important game to the Xbox brand, but to gaming entirely, being regarded as one of the biggest franchises in gaming history. There are no Playstation titles that can compete with Halo, and certainly none that can compete with Call of Duty. Again, let me reiterate that. Halo is the ONLY gaming franchise that has managed to put fair competition against Call of Duty.
The Xbox One is already initializing itself with a very sour reputation. A very significant factor in Xbox 360’s success was Halo 3. It’s what sold the console, and it was the main reason to purchase the Xbox 360 over the Playstation 3. All of those millions who played Halo 3 for literally years, as proven by the population statistics, ended up growing a dedication to the Xbox 360 and the Xbox brand. This has only declined though, with titles like Halo: Reach and Halo 4 not properly measuring up in comparison to Halo 3, and the Playstation 3 is now beginning to outsell the Xbox 360, or at least this is shown in some of the later reports. In recent polls, the PS4 has a 30 point advantage in comparison to the Xbox One, and this published IGN Facebook poll is one good example.
The fact of the matter is, the only visible way for the Xbox One to gain a very significant advantage over the Playstation 4 is if another fantastic title with the likes of the first three Halos is released. In regards to Titanfall, I simply don’t see it being that title, and it’s exclusivity to Xbox One isn’t something to depend on.
Xbox One sales have come close to catching up to PS4’s, and there are plenty of games to keep an XBOX fanbase besides Halo. I imagine they will be neck and neck, then when Halo 5 comes out as a smash hit like I predict, X1 will take the lead.
Besides, look at what all the X1 can do VS the PS4, that’s a no brainer.

It’s a bit too early to ask for a delay. Not to mention we can moan and complain all we would like but Microsoft would still push it out next year anyway. I’m sure if 343 had a choice it wouldn’t be coming out next year.
Delayed games are not always better games. I.e. Duke Nukem Forever, Too Human, LA Noire. Also Halo 5 has been in development since long before the release of Halo 4. Easily a 2 1/2 year development cycle.

Was really just a short time before it’s release, few months.
Well IMO they should just release it when its ready.
Since Halo 4, 343 has grown significantly. It has more than doubled than I think one of the original Halo games. Its really just best for dvelopers to not worry about the time, as seen from nearly all of the Halo games(Halo 2 and 4 mostly) a set time is not the best. However I think that 343 is more than capable of doing so in 2.5 years. Not to mention that as long as the previous Halos have players, there should not be much worry of Halo ‘dying’
Take as many years as they need. By this logic, this could still be within the next year as they have grown in size. They could deliver a very good experience with the next game in 2014. My optimal choice would be to release Halo 5 on 2015, but if it is not a major title, then I don’t mind it being released on 2014.
> I honestly could care less as long as people are at least still playing the previous Halo games.
>
> Community doesn’t sustain Halo, people are forgetting they are individuals. Halo might die for some but it’s still alive for others.
>
> A big shout out to a friend for making me realize this.
I’d prefer more people playing the game so I could actually play the DLC I paid for to support the game and 343i, but that ain’t happening.
