Listen 343 I don’t want halo 5 to suffer the same fate as MCC. This is your last chance if halo 5 is fails at launch halo is done for good. In my opinion October 27th is too soon. I don’t know if Microsoft is pushing you to do this or what but TAKE YOUR TIME 343!! Ya I of course cant wait for the full release. But I don’t want a broken mess of a game that was MCC. Speaking of MCC its still not completley fixed yet. I know a lot people are not patient. But think of it like this. If halo 5 has a successful launch it could get the halo community and Xbox one sales back on track. I don’t care if i have to wait till 2016. I just want to get halo back on top of the food chain of FPS. Anyone else agree?
Dude, the game has already been delayed. By October 27th, Halo 5 will have had a 3 year development time.
BTW, the beta clearly worked well, and the game is still 8 months away. Yes, the MCC was a mess, BUT it was a crazy project. Cramming 4 game in one, having all of the multiplayer, etc. Not to mention that Blur did the cutscenes, Certain Affinity did the H2A multiplayer, Saber Interactive did the graphics remaster for H2A campaign. It was a total cluster F***. Halo 5 is one focused project, and it won’t have a jumble of servers to run four freakin Halo multiplayers.
Edit: Skywalker sound did the music. I’m also pretty sure that the terminals were also by a different studio.

No it wasn’t.

Ok, why? Are you just arbitrarily thinking 10-27-15 is too soon without anything to base that on?
Also I wish people would remember Halo 4. Halo 4 worked at launch, barring some minor server problems. It was stable. Matchmaking and the party system was fine. On the other hand, MCC was a Frankenstein game that dumped 5 games and 5 netcodes from three different consoles into a single suite operating through a unified UI and matchmaking infrastructure.
Now that doesn’t excuse the game not -Yoinking!- working when they released it, but it’s important to remember that Halo 5 is not MCC, and that the team working on Halo 5 did not work on MCC, and that it isn’t unreasonable to assume that Halo 5’s launch will go the way of Halo 4’s and not MCC’s.
Halo 5 is one game. It has one engine. People seem to forget that Halo 4 worked perfectly fine at launch. I see no reason to worry at the moment.

I’d appreciate people reading and sharing their opinions on my post. I think I had pretty good explanations.
Cod has 3 years dev time now, I want Halo to have 4 years dev time now.
Why are you under the impression the release date is 343’s decision? Its a publisher’s decision.
As long as they release a full, complete game with nothing missing I will be happy. Hence, I do not want to see playlists in multiplayer saying “ranking coming soon”. I want them to have a polished product (obviously with the technology and the amount of work done with games now its almost impossible to be bug free) Nonetheless at least minimal amount of bugs present. Also I would like them to add what they ended up patching in Halo: Reach and Halo 4, with the last TUs, the weapons tweaking mod where they can tweak weapons on the fly. That case if the weapons are slightly unbalanced they can tweak on the fly. I really thing a second beta with big team in like august would allow them to gauge server load. Even with the same weapons from the beta, that would be good.
They’ve been making the game for 2 and a half years now. I think that it’s likely that it will be ready at late October. It’s only releasing a week earlier than most other games.
“In my opinion, October 27 is too soon.” And who cares about your opinion? What inside knowledge regarding the development and completion status of this game do you have that would lead you to that conclusion? The fact is, you know nothing, and are just running your mouth and making baseless claims.
I love that people think this game deserves to be delayed just by virtue of getting a release date. Why do you insist that 343 needs to delay this game, when we have no reason to believe that the game will be finished by then, if not earlier?
And please, don’t reference the MCC. It was outsourced to different studios. 343 is not responsible for the debacle that game was at launch.

What are you basing that off of? You have no inside knowledge of the creation or development of games, but are rather just placing arbitrary timelines on something you don’t have anything more than a casual knowledge about.
I’m happy to wait if it means the final product is perfect (bar a few, inevitable minor bugs that can be patched quickly). Just like with Arkham Knight and MGS 5. If they push them back for good reason I’m okay with that. I do hope there isn’t a stupidly large day one patch like with the MCC. I can deal with a gig or so but that should be all that’s required.
All the numbered halo games had 3 years or more of development and they were fine so why should halo 5 be delayed?how many people would buy halo 5 if there stuck with the mcc which still isn’t completely fixed for another year
By the way, if you think Microsoft is vested in releasing an unfinished Halo 5 at this point, then you must be kidding yourself. Microsoft has thrown unfathomable resources into the development of this game. It is the crown jewel of the Xbox, and the single game that needs to justify Microsoft’s credibility with the Xbox One. If there was ever anything that was too big to fail in gaming, it’s Halo 5.

Yes, it was. If you look at the 2013 e3 trailer it says 2014

That trailer was about Halo in general coming to the Xbox One, it was never specifically about Halo 5 and never specifically mentioned Halo 5. The journey beginning was the MCC - our journey starts with the first 4 campaigns and some Blur created extra scenes that then push us into Halo 5.
It’s not 343i’s call to make, that’s MS’ decision
Yeah, they should take their time if they need it, I just don’t think they need it.
Take your time, 343. However, if you believe the current release date is enough time, I can trust you on that. The launch of MCC was a wake-up call, and I have no doubt you know what you need to succeed.
