Delay caused by legacy version?

I’m as disappointed as a lot of you are that there will be no co-op or forge on release, but in my opinion, the technical limitations of the xbox one version might be the culprit.

The xbox one is 8 years old and on the tail’s end of its supported life cycle. For obvious money reasons, 343 or microsoft want the console to ride the coattails of the live service and broadcast it to as many people as it can get. That plan may have caused more time consumption to make sure the xbox one version is on par with the more updated series X and the many different versions of PC.

I could somehow understand the co-op being delayed considering that the Master Chief Collection still does not support crossplay campaign co-op between xbox one and PC. For Forge, the cross platform file conversions are still difficult with Halo 5 between PC and xbox one. It also still does not support crossplay. The development might still be figuring out an optimized plan since there will be 3 platforms supported this time. It seems both of these xbox one obstacles carried over to this delay and I think it will still cause problems once it releases. These problems with the xbox one version almost mirror Cyberpunk’s ambitious legacy support.

Anyway, I hope that there will be flights aimed at co-op and forge before they release so there won’t be an MCC-like debacle again. What do you guys n gals think?

As it stands right now, we don’t know where things have gone wrong.
But Halo is not Cyberpunk, speculating on what’s wrong with the game before we have any game or evidence in hand doesn’t help anyone.

I really agree with you dude, I mean, I really prefer that 343 focus to give us a good experience playing Halo Infinite and that won’t be like a Cyberpunk more, with a broken game.

Halo may not be Cyberpunk, but they’re both modern games that were and are catering to the legacy crowd. That’s why I use it as an example of the legacy version causing the delay. I do agree with you though that speculation never helps solve problems. I am just an optimist.

That sounds possible but you would think theyd only delay the xbox one version if this was the case.
Its definitely good that they decided to keep the xbone alive considering how difficult it is for people to find/buy the new consoles

I’ve been wondering this as well. I feel like there’s a push from MS to make everything available to the entire family of MS devices. But I don’t see how a game like this will ever run well on 8 year old hardware. There’s got to be a point where the original Xbox One needs to get cut off or it’ll just drag down the rest.

The problem is people are unable to get a Series X. I’m the only person I know who has one.

It does disappoint me as a Series X owner that games can’t take full advantage of the hardware features because of Microsoft’s cross gen policy, but I would have noone to play with if the Xbox One got ignored.

When I go into the stores there are plenty, like yesterday in Gamestop in Stuttgart and many other e-stores in that city.

Friend of mine abzeichen from another County called Nordrhein-Westfalen or so also told me that most of the stores got the new Series X around
