Does the whole “custom game with downloaded game types” trick not work for the “Return To Sender” and “Crackin’ Skulls” achievements anymore? Did they fix that, or am I doing something wrong? Worked for me last year when I did it on my other account…

Do you still have the game plays in your file history/recent history? If yes then would you please upload to file share then send me a PM with the link. I don’t know if they have nuked the trick or not, but you have to do the trick Just Right for it to work.
The original Defiant Achievements only work with this, the new ones won’t.
Candy From A Baby, Return to Sender & Crackin’ Skulls will work if you are using a game type from Matchmaking.

I downloaded the game types from doing a search. I watched a YouTube video that linked to the specific files (author was Bungie for all of them, I got the exact ones they linked and used in the video) and did the Crackin’ Skulls one. Got the skull, beat down my friend 3 times (in a custom game with the downloaded game type), and didn’t get the achievement.
I can’t remember if I had to do anything else different, but it worked on my old account (Lcy Dead People). Didn’t work this time. Any ideas?

Just uploaded it. It’s in my file share down, “Oddball” game, the only film in my file share under this (MDK Dreadnaught) name. 3 minutes long. I don’t know how to link you to the individual file but just click on my name here and go to my fileshare I guess.

Also… will it work on a custom Forge map if I use the right game type downloaded and such? If so, I’d like to use my own map (also in my file share, called “Formulation”) to do it. Please give it a download and tell me what you think, if you have a few minutes to spare.I would appreciate any and all input, good or (and especially) bad, as long as it’s constructive and helpful!

That’s what I tried first. I did it on “Condemned” and “Anchor 9”. All three challenges. All using the downloaded game types. Tried killing the flag carrier then returning, twice in a row without dying myself. Tried having him just drop it and then I return it, etc. Nothing worked.
I don’t think the map makes any difference. I got some of these in the past few days on normal maps (I have no dlc but I was in matchmaking)

Yeah we’re just trying to knock out as many achievements as we can as quickly as we can, just because these are new accounts (we started a sort of silly team/clan thing called “MDK” just for fun). I have all but 2 or 3 achievements on my other account (Lcy Dead People) so I’m not about to get all of them, just the ones that aren’t really tough.
I’m not the greatest Halo player in the world (matchmaking wise) but I don’t suck, per se, either. I’m probably average I suppose. So any “cheap/easy” way to get achievements, I’m all for it. Especially since I got 95% of them the regular way already with my other account.
Off topic though: anyone know why Bungie didn’t hide skulls in Reach? And anyone hear anything about if hidden skulls will be returning for Halo 4 at all?
