Defending Bases with Vehicles in Warzone Assault

This is entirely ruining my experience in Warzone Assault. The trend is catching on and it’s incredibly hard to counter. More and more games I find the defending team stacking Oni/Urban Scout/normal Hogs in the first base. At that point in the game you don’t have weapons to beat them. The drivers are practically invulnerable in them. You can have your entire team focus the vehicles for 20+ seconds but at that point the entire defending team has respawned and is now killing you from behind. I’m seeing a lot of teams doing this and it has been working tremendously.

It’s a dirty tactic but it works, the way to counter this would be to allow a tug of war system for base captures so if attackers have 8 guys in and defenders have 3 guys in hogs the capture should still happen but slowly.

I think they need to make it to where if you’re in a vehicle you aren’t considered present in the base. Even then it’s still a big distraction and if you completely pay no mind to it they’ll pick up a few splatters. The only chance you have is getting to level 3 and getting a plasma pistol to try and take them out. Even then the amount of time it takes to get to level 3, and the time dedicated to take out the vehicles leaves you with 0 room for error. One way to fix this is to possibly only allow the defending team to have 2 vehicles out at a time on the first base.

Err… Grenades?

Besides the fact they do almost no damage to Oni/Urban/Corp Hogs it’s very hard to actually penetrate the initial layer of defense getting in to the base originally without using them.

Oh come on it’s the only gametype where those things are useful let defenders have their fun.

Defenders? I’ve mainly seen the Attackers do this cheap tactic.

I see both but it’s mostly defenders when I play

If they can get an oni warthog req at the first base then your team was probably pretty outmatched already.

Ohh the irony.

I find people spawning vehicles last minute so they spawn in the base your trying to capture

wait til u get ur req up and get an fuel rod, get an overshield, get a ghost…figure it out man its all about resourcefullness

Yeah that is way too over powered…especially since defenders get way more kills so they can use items earlier in the game than attackers

It’s hilarious that on the snow level the defending team can spawn vehicles INSIDE the base you’re trying to capture. Whenever the base it being captured I just spawn a mongoose real quick to make sure I get right back in.

Well WTF else am I suppose to use my scout hog for? A cumbersome mongoose?

I thought there is another way for 343 to solve this kind of tactics and make the Warzone Assault more playable: Give the attack team more REQ points from the start.

Maybe Attackers start at 2 REQ points, Defenders start at 1 will make things much better.

Or just get rid of scout hogs. Wtf are they even for???

Wait, so you’re telling me I can use all those useless scout hogs to block the entrances to my base and keep out the attackers? Awesome. XD

Exactly mate, even in video games. War isn’t fair.
