Defend vs Protect - Warzone FF

In Warzone FF, what are the enemies trying to do in Defend rounds?

Protect is straightforward, as I can see them trying to destroy something - generator, forerunner thingy, etc…

In Defend they just come into the area (armoury, sphire, garage, etc.) and do what?

In terms of difficulty, which do you think is more difficult? I’m leaning towards Protect.

When the Defend round begins, you have to prevent the enemy AI from taking over an area, much like an enemy team does in regular Warzone. When the round starts, you will notice a medium-sized circle appear on your screen. If you leave the enemy AI in the area, they will start to capture it. If they successfully manage to capture it, the round ends and it is game over.

I see. It now makes perfect sense. thanks.

The defense rounds are like the wz assault defenders need to do. At least one person needs to be inside the base, if there’s no one inside the base you lost the match afther a while, I’ll say that the best place for defense rounds is doing spawn kills outside but if you’re walking better go inside and try to protect the part of the stairs (there you can see the two floors).
the ones of protect generator are harder becase if there’s no one close to it, they can destroy it in seconds, this is more common in mythic, because the IA aims faster, do more damage and moves like crazy. The harder rounds for it is the level 4 darkstar. Two shots of the knights and you lost in 3 seconds the two generators xD, and the level 3 urban where the generator is close to the core where u defend in assault, is just one and the path don’t have curves, so the IA shot it from far, is very painful that round and if you didn’t had luck in the past 2 rounds, ghost are not enought, you’ll lost it quickly.

In Apex map, there is a round for Defend the Spire - in this case so if there is at least one person anywhere on/in the structure, we don’t lose?
The promethean guys occupied the top of the sphire, they had overhead phaetons providing aerial support, and the whole field was littered with crawlers, soldiers and knights.

The only time I like a Defend round is if it’s against covenant AI, especially Round 1’s

Yes, so long as there is one person on the spire, the enemy AI won’t capture it. That round, in particular, is one of the more difficult ones.

If there is 1 person you don’t lose, the problem is that if the person dies you need other there. That round is better with ghosts, if you have level 3 or 4. You can do it with wasp too but need to be moving a lot and be waiting the phaeton, or if you’re fast in req points use a banshee, just move far from knights.

Sorry. Disregard.

some of my most fun battles in firefight have been on that round. I’ll be in the back end of the building where it has that split ramp inside that leads to a req station then joins into 1 ramp up to the top. I’ve had games where enemies have spawned both on the top and at the bottom covering both sides of that ramp and i’d be bouncing back and forth snatching cover where I can dropping crawlers first then soldiers. Usually by that found I’ll have my DMR’s. Thats the sort of round that can easily propel me far far ahead in the score.

Same with the Defend the forerunner cores on prospect. I’ll stand outside with 2 DMR’s and waste the covvies who spawn at the far end of the platform then advance kill the others that spawn down on the other platform thing where the final bosses usually are then the pack of grunts and jackals that are forced to run completely exposed. They dont even make it to the ramp up to me. Then i move back towards the core and wait for the same sequence of waves to spawn again. Very very easy to get 30+ kills on that round, most/all being headshots.

The worst is round 2 on apex, defend the generators. Its on the opposite side of the island to where round 1 happens the first wave of enemies is crawlers and they spawn quite close to them. The next wave has splinter turret soldiers that spawn next to one of the generators

Is this on Mythic? because with shields not recharging as from round 2, I only survive for a few seconds on foot in those defend/protect rounds.

The Apex map.is my least favourite map. The only thing I like about it is the view from the sky when flying.

Protect generators on ARC round 2 mythic can be pretty brutal.
