Especially on Urban, you got Prometheans blasting away at it from half way accross the map. Its on uneven ground with road blocks. Almost every time I try to run them all over the ghost flips leaving me vulnerable to a splinter turret shot. It’s so frustrating.
I agree it’s annoying, I find by the time you’ve even reached it it’s down to 80% as the enemy spawn closer to it than you do.
I think wardens inside the base are worse though.
The one where you kill two Knights, and THEN two Satans whilst being assaulted by Banshees and Wraiths is worse.
Forerunner Core on Urban is pretty hard though.

And It Is.
nah its the 5 temple banshees in orbit thats impossible at req lvl 2 in urban (they spawn with a million banshees and they are so high up that you cant kill them with an ar)
Worst thing about these difficult modes is that you end up using so many reqs just to try and complete that round… they all go to waste.
maybe it’s 'cuz 343 knows everybody’s been stockpiling REQs and they want you to use them so you get desperate and spend money on REQ packs.

Yeah you nailed it right on the head… thats exactly what or how it is.
Actually I don’t really mind that though. I like the challenge, although certain objectives like this topic are overkill a little bit. At least just give the team time to get into position before the enemy spawns in and makes it impossible to mount a successful defense. Not having the objectives spawn across the entire map is a start.

Urban is annoying in every part!
I agree, any defending is to challenging in wff, because the ai are too powerful and you have to sprint to get there too late!
It is hard, except on Sanctum, I find it pretty easy there for the last round when everyone’s in a tank.
I’d say the ‘Kill 4x Promethean Mantis’ is as bad as any defend mission, considering one’s always put in a small & enclosed place where it’s immune to any vehicle and can kill any heavy weapon users quickly because it almost impossible to avoid its attacks long enough to actually fire at it.
It feels me like they are defending the core from us. It’s really annoying how by the time you actually get to the core, it’s already occupied by enemies who have already done 75 - 80% damage to it.
I LOVE a good challenge. Just not when it’s cheap and/or badly designed.

Yeah when its the last round sure its possible with tanks. But on Urban its the 2nd or third round, and all you got is a ghost or basic level 3 reqs. The wasp doesnt have a safe area to spawn, requesting one on urban is an instant death and waste of a req.
Yeah true. And defend the Covenant core is the most fun. By far.
