What default armor should we start with in multiplayer?
-
Master Chief’s Mark 6 Gen 3
-
Default armor from previous games
-
New default armor design
Same goes for visor colors. Would you rather start with gold, blue, or another color? And how about those new animated visors the kids are wearing these days?
I think the starting armor should be as generic as possible. I wouldn’t want them to have to be Chief’s armor from the campaign, as I feel that should be a rare armor that is either pretty expensive to unlock or is locked behind some kind of achievement or challenge. The default armor from previous games, such as the starting armor from Reach would do nicely. That way the starting armor isn’t cool enough that people won’t want to every switch from it. As for visor color, I think it would be interesting if they just started you out with a matte grey visor or something like that. Just something incredibly boring and generic to look at so when you unlock cooler visors, animated or otherwise, it will stand out.
I’m 99% certain this is the default armor design and visor color in Infinite.

Going by every piece of material and evidence we’ve seen up until this point, I think it’s safe to say that:
- Master Chief’s armor has never been able to be recreated in multiplayer. - The Mark VII is more than likely set to be the default standard, with a visor color of gold.
Already confirmed that Mk VII is the new default armor for Infinite.
If you wonder about how it looks, Fos Kuvol already shared an image of the Mk VII with the monarch armor coating.
You can also see the Mark VII here with the Red Shift armor coating.

A bit off topic, but was anyone even able to get the Red Shift armor coating? My GameStop didn’t know what I was even talking about. I also agree that the Mk VII is going to be the default armor coating.

I was never able to get it but a lot of the codes have already expired.

Yeah, it’s to late to redeem them anyways. It sucks because that coating looked the coolest out of all of them.

My favorite is still the ‘Watchdog’ armor coating, sucks that I’ll never get it just with how ludicrous the grind is on Halo 5’s multiplayer. Power to the people that played the multiplayer so long and earn it though (and lose their sanity at the same time doing so).
As previously mentioned above, the default armour & visor was actually revealed a long time ago.
I’m actually a big fan of it too. A lot of default armour looks a bit generic and boring but the new set for Infinite is quite decent. I’m excited to see what else they have in game.
Oh well now I know. That puts all my guesses to rest then. Thank you guys! I know nothing about the armor coatings but I dig the mark VII. I’m glad it sort of looks like halo reach’s default armor. I liked the recruit armor but being called the recruit armor and it’s summary mostly saying that it’s for Spartans that haven’t proven their ability’s makes me want to change it to show off my skill level. Or like halo 5 my luck with Req packs…
I would Love a chess related start. As playing with Black team and White team in a black and white arena. The visors opposite of the armor colours.
The rendering of both colours will make it harder to see. But don’t trow in power weapons.

That actually looks awesome for default armor.
I think the default armour will be that new mk 7 (I think it’s my 7?). Default visor should be gold. Animated visors are cool I’m sure they will be in Infinite, at least at some point if not at launch.

Yeah it’s most likely.
