Alright, before people start bashing 343i and microsoft because there are a lack of many dedicated servers for this game, my question is, how expensive are they? Surely they have the money to purchase said servers. I know that servers can be pretty expensive, especially if you are trying to get hundreds for a game. Do you ever think they will be implemented and or purchased and allocated to MCC?
Microsoft in general is struggling with the dedicated servers on the X1. Microsoft advertised the X1 as having “all dedicated servers”. Clearly that has not been the case. The best dedicated servers I have seen are in BF4. That game runs absolutely incredible with 64 players. THAT is how dedicated servers are supposed to work.
From what I’ve seen previously, Microsoft doesn’t like to use commodity hardware although this may have changed in the last year or so. They generally like to buy the biggest, baddest server for thousands of dollars. However as Google and others have shown, using commodity hardware is the better solution. These servers should be $400 Dells.
