From shots not connecting, to teleporting, to ice skating across the map and even to shooting rockets just to find out 10 seconds later they’re back in my chamber it was just not a fun night.

If this is what someone from the US has to endure, i’d hate to see what someone from Australia or the UK would have to go through. Even Lxthul last night was having issues. On stream he would be lighting people up yet nothing was happening to their shields. One instance he even said “Are you going to die?!” My question is is this the best it’s going to get? Is 343 constantly providing maintenance to their servers? Because if the servers aren’t going to be to par, i would rather play on a P2P (What MCC is) connection because it seems a broken P2P is more playable than a broken dedi.

If you are a US player and live on or near the east coast the problem is 99.9% from the region lock removal. Even here in the states you no longer will connect to the server with the best ping. You will bounce around all over the states. I feel your pain. And I have decided to quit playing anymore Arena games. Its just to horrible… But like you said EU players really have it bad!!! The only fix for this is Selectable Servers. It would be the most fair to all…

I am in the UK and its horrible i am not exactly good and don’t play that much now since they removed region lock i notice it alot I am shooting someone and next minute they just teleport.

I wonder if the removal of Region lock is an acknowledgement that the population worldwide just isn’t enough and the game was going to die anyway.
So they have taken this approach to artificially give us players to compete against even though we all complain about broken servers. Maybe they think we will be ok with at least getting games rather than just quitting because we can’t get a game at all.
Anyway Arena is not quite unplayable but it’s getting there.

That’s a good point. Have an option of server selection will give you an idea of how large the population is in your area by just how fast it finds players…

True it will, but think these servers will kill the game faster than having to wait for a quality game. I’m from EU (Denmark) and had longer search times during region lock, but it was not a problem at all, because I got quality games. Now it’s just a joke. Game will ban you for your DC, and forum mods will ban you on forum when you’ve had enough and went here.

This. I never thought of it like that. Why remove region lock if each country has plenty of players in the playlists for their to be consist matches? If what you say is true which it most likely is, the populations became too low for anyone who wasn’t in the US to be able to play matchmaking. Now that i think of it, i believe i remember seeing a thread where EU’s talked about game intermissions being roughly 10-20 minutes to find a single game. But now with region lock gone, games are completely lopsided. Either the EU’s are laggy to the US, the US is laggy to the EU, or everyone suffers and ends up ice skating across the map due to the laggy server that was chosen.
Region locks should be Nordic countries + UK, rest of EU, Russia, USA, South America, Asia, Afria, Oceania, India. ’
And you should be able to choose which region you prefer.

WEll i’m from germany and i always loved swat, but know its like going for the jackpot, sometimes you got good games, i think these are the ones who are EU intern, and then there are the ones where you shoot your foe 6 times in the head, he keeps running, you rage and shot just next to him, got the kill … or other example he comes from the front, both shoot like mad a full clip into each other, both reloade still standing, were shooting again nothing happens, next melee you go for it you hit 3 times, i die he keeps running, 3 seconds, melee from the grave … (well that was my worst expierience so far),
Agree man, I’m sick of this situation. 343 doesnt understand that each shot is important, and every time I face someone, the shots sometimes dissapear.
I know it sounds like excuses, I’m not a pro or something like that, but it’s the truth

Them 2 clips is what it is like in arena 99% of the time for me playing from Europe, and arena is all I play. Why do I keep playing if it’s like this?? What choice do I have. My friends and I were also on last night 10pm-11pm and it was just retrieving data error all the time, no reqs, not see match stats ect.
At least 10,000 players have left in this time, since all this -Yoink-. I have loved halo since CE but halo 4 was em never really played much or liked it, MCC bought seen and sold. Now this piece of dog -Yoink-
343 and Microsoft have fooled me too many times now it’s a may update or that’s it for me I’m not paying for a service that goes down every other night when they can’t even get the basic game play right.

1st clip your aim was all over and he was strafing all over the place 2nd clip you Spartan charged the wall not the player. I’m not saying you haven’t experience what we have experienced with latency and lag but they don’t look like the best examples for me. But I agree the servers have been trash all weekend and even this morning 8-11 uk time was on US servers 90% of the time.
I’ve made multiple threads on this. I refuse to play arena and war zone is still a bit laggy (tolerable). The only plus for me is that I can finally find FFA games (extremely laggy however. If 343i doesn’t get server selection ASAP the game will just be like a smashing a nail through a dead mans coffin.
