Since all the games are now on the customs browser, it would be nice to bring a dedicated server tool to run on our own hardware. This could open a lot of opportunities such as fully custom game modes, maps (especially the ones made from modding tools), and settings such as unlimited map rotation/random game modes etc. Essentially make it almost the same as the server browser from Custom Edition or H2V. I feel like with a dedicated server tool would make the game last even longer.
I’m speaking mostly for PC but I wish that console players would get those features too.

I am hoping that this functionality will come. After the mod tools enter their consumption phase maybe this is something 343 can get around to doing. Xbox players would benefit with at least being able to join 24/7 vanilla servers.
Would help to establish communities with their own servers too!

Yeah I was hoping that’s how CGB would have started out on MCC, it makes sense and would be cool to have a batch file that launches the server on with a cfg file to tell the server which maps/games/gamemodes to run on rotation, it’s been done before with that which shan’t be named.
I have mentioned this many times to 343i and fell on deaf ears. They don’t want us to have our own dedicated server software and that sucks! Hell I have also mentioned why we can’t mix match games it also fell on deaf ears. Example:
Here is a setup for MIXED Game Rotations:
A. Select Game: ( H2A )
B. Select Map: ( Bloodline )
C. Select Game Mode: ( CTF )
A. Select Game: ( H3 )
B, Select Map: ( Valhalla )
C. Select Game Mode: ( Slayer )
A. Select Game: ( H4 )
B. Select Map: ( Meltdown )
C. Select Game Mode: ( CTF )

Here is a scenario of a person that is walking down a dirt road and comes to a gate:
See road
walk down road
See gate
walk to gate
stop at gate
open gate
walk thru gate
close gate
continue down the road!
I can bet you $100.00 That 343i won’t do a damn thing about it! WHY? Cuz They Don’t user’s to have stuff like this! Hell even Bungie gave us our own dedictaed server software for Halo Combat Evolved, Halo CE and even Halo Online ( DEWRITO Halo 3 ) had dedicated server software for user’s!

I agree 100%. But IMHO 343i is going to do what they want to do not what the Halo Community wants and or needs.
