I would like it if Halo stopped getting increased delays inbetween actions.
Since Halo 2 an button combos its been made sure that it wouldn’t happen again, in-fact even punishing those who tried (granting an even longer delay) an delays inbetween actions have been increased slightly with Halo 3 and further increased in Reach. I would like this to stop with the new trilogy, starting with Halo 4 of course.
Now I’m not suggesting that button combos do come back. As much as I enjoyed them and would like them back I know its not happening. They were a sweet mistakes, but mistakes nonetheless and probably wouldn’t be able to get recreated.
Don’t know what in the hells name I’m talking about? Switching weapons rapidly (YYing), shooting after switching, beatdowns/shooting all delayed. The list goes on an I’m sure theres more with AAs but you should get the point. No I’m not saying to remove these delays, just stop increasing the delay an decrease it a bit. Although I’d like YYing to return, its not a “glitch”, there shouldn’t be too much (if any) objection for it.
All increasing the delay does is make things more “fair” (in a bad way), punishing those who have reaction time (it really doesn’t require a whole lot), decreasing the individual skill gap, giving players a “chance” of killing someone they shouldn’t have.
Some of the delays (1 sec melee) were meant to be helpful.
That being said, I would really love faster weapon switching. It seems like it takes forever to actually fire a weapon after switching sometimes… But that’s about it.
Agreed. Halo has gotten sluggish and punishes people with fast reaction times. The sword took especially long to pull out in Halo 3 it was nearly useless except for keeping out and camping in corners. That is not balance. Secondary weapons take so long to pull out in Reach they are used absolutely never because you’d be killed in the time it takes to switch. It removes switching to an appropriate secondary for a quick kill as a strategy and lowers the skill gap and encourages, as with everything else in Reach (and Halo 3 to a lesser extent), people to tortoise it up with no quick thinking or adrenaline moments. Melees take forever too. Everything is delayed.
I agree, this has been my biggest complaint since Halo 3, along with slower base movement. They need to quit slowing Halo down. It’s initial lure was it’s fast paced gameplay and rewarding the better player with quicker reflexes.
Yeah, I miss the active reloads in Halo.
That, said I can understand why they took the button glitches out. The BR was basically an anti-everything weapon (with the exception off anti-vehicle), it worked at any range.
How about a simple on/off option for weapon delays? Have gametypes in classic playlists without the delays?

And firing after reloading -_- so hard to get multis with the sniper unless you’re an absolute boss
