Decimus the great loser of Doisac

Does any other Marine here think Decimus is the worst leader in Halo Wars 2?
My reasoning for thinking Decimus being useless is:

Has no significant leaders powers.
Hero unit (The Warlord) is too short range & has no affective Special abilities.
No signature unit.
Passive powers are useless.
The Decimus drop leader power is again ineffective for such an expensive leader power. (As opposed to Atriox’s invulnerability leader power which is quite effective)
Another prime example of Decimus’s uselessness is his Spirit assault which deploys just two suicide grunts as opposed to Yapyap’s small Armada.
In conclusion. Decimus is a weak & poorly built leader who does not have any serious impact on either the campaign or multiplayer.
So what do you think Marines?
Is Decimus the biggest push over or what?
Let me know what you think… now move it out double time!

I would take Deci over any other Banished in 1v1. Teams might be a different story. His Boundless Siphon isn’t useless anymore since they buffed it a few patches ago.

One thing I wish they did though would be to give Decimus Hunter’s Brand, even though it wouldn’t make sense thematically. Decimus depends on micro more than pretty much every other hero, so I’d prefer having a power where you can still micro instead of having Glassing Beam.

Send me a Grunt, I need to kick this OP…HARD!!

No, Siphon got buffed, Boundless Siphon had to get nerfed. Unless you have snipers or tanks or air, you’re not killing that warlord on the ground mid game or late game. He doesn’t need unique units. Spirit drop has helped me fend on engagement way too many times. Decimus Drop is somewhat decent now that it’s like a reverse Eradication without the explosion. As for his importance you fight him twice, unlike Atriox or let’s say Colony. We know a bit more about Decimus than we do Atriox and he’s the Banished Leader!

How often does Megatron actually go out and fight anyone that isn’t Optimus? Atriox already beat his Optimus once, and he can probably do it again.

Well I’m glad you find him useful

BOI, As a Decimus main all I can say is that he is an absolute beast in pretty much every situation. You say that his passives are “useless” but you forget to realise that coupling Boundless Siphon with regular Siphon and Boundless Fury AND Fury pretty much makes your armies invulnerable. Boundless Siphoned Banshees, Mauraders, Hunters, Scarabs and practically every unit rightly decimates everything. With his two suicide grunts, they may seem worthless but they can be extremely clutch, especially when the enemy pushes early-midgame with a ball of infantry. Just drop’em in and watch bodies fly.
In regards to no significant leader powers, you are right on that front. Though, he does get lvl 3 glassing beam and Decimus himself with the recent update now has a mini-eradication as his Y ability. he shoots out 8 beams now instead of the measly two. If you drop him into the middle of an opponents army and trigger his ability you will bring everything down to red health practically and your siphoning army will clean the rest. Not only that, his mini-eradication doesn’t cost anything and recharges ever minute or something like that. ON top of that his Y ability does quite the chunk to enemy bases too, so if you need to clutch-kill a base just drop him in and let loose the fireworks.
Believe me when I say this, but Decimus is far from the worst leader.

Except the times Megatron fought Optimus won and lost to someone weaker than Optimus. Even though I like Rodimus Prime.

im suprise someone finds him not usefel

Are we playing the same game?

I’m so happy that this post is getting so much recognition. :relaxed:
