Jerome, outside of a jackrabbit rush, isn’t that strong anymore. the rest is debatable. Decimus is insane ATM
Honestly I think Warlord is fine after the most recent nerfs. Hammer sniping is a move I think good micro and skill should reward.
However I wouldn’t be opposed to having Vortex as a T2 power so it takes longer to max.

As a Shipmaster main, I have a hard time believing that he’s top 3. In 1’s, if you scout and are able to guard the locusts play, then you should easily be able to take him down. Ship is just absolute buttcheeks in direct engagements so if you’re able to engage him on your terms then he’s pretty much done.
You can even beat his early game Ghosts/Grunts/Engineer play by rushing to tech 2. I’m only like the 32nd ranked SM in 3’s and it straight baffles me that a lot of these high level players don’t scout.
With all that said, I’m probably not seeing the full picture. If someone can enlighten me, then please do. Ship is definitely the best leader in team games tho

For tournaments? Other than BtC, will this game even have those?

So just because he is an onyx player he is not the best. He doesn’t play ranked and I just told you rank means nothing. He can beat the #1 guy 10 out of 10 and also the 2nd and 3rd can’t beat him either. So what makes their rank so appealing cuz they can’t win. I know them all we are friends that play customs all the time. So please tell me how they are better if they can’t beat him. Which is funny because they all agree he is the best and they ask for his strats after every patch.

If anyone plays against the top 1% of anything, they’re likely to lose.
If the leaderboards as a whole are a false source of data, that’s fine. But, I find it equally hard to justify the mysterious “top players” data. If we play and you beat me, that may not show that Cutter is worse than Deci, but that you’re just a better player.
Also, I did play squid ward. He’s great with Kinsano. Our game lasted almost two hours though

He does make sense. I play an hour a night if that. I placed diamond 5 but get matched against rank champion players 2v2. I have never placed 1v1 in any season but I get matched against onyx rank. Unless you spend countless time on this game you won’t be able to gain enough csr points to get to the top 200 to become champion. So the best player being in onyx? Strong possibility
Lets not forget you give up control of your army to use vortex and cleansing beam. Thats a serious side effect to any player.
Any more nerfs to Deci and hes back on the leader scrap-pile like before.

I think that’s due to a small number of players. It just matches you against whoever is available.
