What do you guys believe makes this armour so good? According to current canon, the Mk VII is too expensive to streamline for Gen 2, but Decimator armour sets are the closest thing to Mk VII. Apparently it’s also extremely rare to be used. Purely speculation, but I’m interested in discussion.
The slipspace capacity and unique nano-tech abilities seem to be the big cost-factors for the Mark-VII.
It’s like any weapon system development - look at the US Air Force debate going on over the A-10 or the J-35 - # ordered and use of legacy systems factor into the cost per unit.
Even in a fictional universe, the rules of scarcity seem to apply!
Where did you guys get this info from?
Considering how it looks, it could be that Decimator took inspiration from Naomi’s customized Mark VII.

Just wished it looked more faithful mark 4 was so faithful.

Yeah, but it’s weird. It’s not actually based on Mark V(B), it’s based on Mark VII. It just so happens that the Mark VII in question was modified to resemble Mark V(B). It’s like a copy of a copy of a copy lol.

I know I was hoping it would resemble Jai armor from the cover of cole protocol. Just looks so squished down.

What else does Mark VII have to offer other than what you had listed made it too expensive? I’d figure at that point it wouldn’t be too different from other Gen 2 sets.

It was in an issue of Canon Fodder. 50 I believe. Grim mentioned that the DECIMATOR-Class MJOLNIR was the closest GEN2 armor set to Mark VII. Now we don’t know to what extent they are similar, but it was also stated to be very unknown outside of the Spartan special forces community.

Actually it would be. No known GEN2 suits have nano technology that adapts the armor hardware and software over time or have the ability to drop out of Slipspace. It could also be prototype Forerunner power systems which were planned for the mainline Mark VII.
it does look like the mark vii but does anyone realize it looks like the mark v noble 6 armor?

It looks more like it’s inspired by it and not a direct rebuild of it.
I really hope it’s not their interpretation of it as it looks like a cheap copy of 6’s armor (my favorite armor since reach)
